The YBX7110 is the EFB version (75Ah) for vehicles with start-stop. Although the YBX5110 has more nominal capacity, the YBX7110 is absolutely necessary if your car has a start-stop system, as it can handle the constant charging cycles much better.Why does the EFB have less capacity (75Ah) than the normal battery (85Ah)?This is due to the internal design. EFB batteries have thicker lead plates and special polyester fleece ("scrim") to increase cycle durability. This needs space in the housing, so for the same case size (LB4) the nominal capacity is often slightly lower. However, the usable energy and service life in start-stop operation is much higher.Can I fit a "normal" 80Ah AGM battery (L4)?No, mostly not. An L4 battery (e.g. AGM 80Ah) is 190 mm high. The YBX7110 is only 175 mm high. If your car (Ford/Opel) requires the flat version, you will often not be able to secure the holding bracket with the 190 mm high battery or the bonnet presses on the poles (risk of short circuit!).Do I need to register the battery?Yes.
