What does the designation CR2016 mean?

The designation gives information about the characteristics and size of the cell. “C” stands for the lithium chemistry, “R” for the round shape. The numbers “2016” represent the dimensions: 20.0 mm in diameter and 1.6 mm in height.

Can I use two CR2016 instead of one CR2032?

Although two CR2016 cells (2 x 1.6 mm = 3.2 mm) stacked have the same height as a CR2032 cell (3.2 mm) and the same voltage, this is strongly discouraged. Contact between the two cells is often unreliable and may cause malfunctions or damage to the device. Always use the battery type specified by the manufacturer.

Is this battery rechargeable?

No. This is a primary lithium battery. It must never be recharged under any circumstances. Attempting to charge it is extremely dangerous and may result in fire or explosion.
