There is a small controller with 3 buttons on the cable. This allows you to switch the strip on/off, change the brightness and cycle through some basic modes. For full functionality (precise colour selection, timer, music scenes), however, the app is necessary.Can I extend the strip?No. The Ostrip is a closed system. You cannot simply plug a second strip onto the end, as the power supply via USB (5 watts) would not be sufficient for this.Is it bright enough as an under-cabinet kitchen light?Rather not as a work light. With 150 lumens over 5 metres, the light is more decorative ("dim light"). For chopping vegetables you need much more brightness and especially pure white light. The Ostrip is more for colourful accents (RGB).Does it work with Alexa or Google Home?In the basic version usually no. The Ostrip connects directly to the phone via Bluetooth.
