Yuasa SWL1100 high-performance battery with 12 V

The Yuasa SWL1100 is a VRLA high-performance battery with 12 volts. It offers an output of 1100 watts per block over 10 minutes and a capacity of 39.6 Ah with a 10-hour discharge. This battery combines high short-term performance with a long service life and is ideal for use in UPS systems, emergency and security power supplies, data centres, telecommunications systems and industrial control systems.

Thanks to low impedance and high short-term current capability, the SWL1100 reliably delivers peak performance and keeps output voltage stable. This makes it ideal for UPS systems with high power density, safety power supplies, communication nodes and buffer applications in critical infrastructures.

Efficiency meets long service life

For standby operation, a float charge voltage of 13.65 V ±1 percent per block applies, corresponding to 2.275 V per cell at 20 °C. The temperature compensation is minus 3 mV per cell and degree Celsius. For heavy-duty charging, 14.50 V ±3 percent per block is provided, 2.42 V per cell, with compensation of minus 4 mV per cell and degree Celsius. No current limitation is required for float charging; 9.90 A is recommended for heavy-duty charging.

Technology for flexible applications

The wide temperature range enables versatile applications: Discharge from minus 20 °C to plus 60 °C, charge from minus 15 °C to plus 50 °C, storage from minus 20 °C to plus 60 °C. Each cell is equipped with a low-pressure valve. VRLA batteries release hydrogen. Do not operate the battery in gas-tight housings and ensure adequate ventilation.

What is the SWL1100 designed for?

The SWL1100 is a valve-regulated VRLA AGM battery for applications with high short-term power, especially UPS and other high current standby uses. The SWL series is designed as a high-rate series.

How does SWL differ from NPL?

The SWL series is a further developed NPL design with improved energy-to-density ratio and up to 40 percent additional discharge capacity at high current discharge, with largely the same mechanical and electrical characteristics. 

What temperature ranges and self-discharge should be considered?

At a temperature of 20 °C, the typical self-discharge is about 3 percent capacity loss per month. In terms of storage, the battery can be stored fully charged at −20 to +60 °C. In operation, the charging range is between −15 and +50 °C, while the discharging range covers −20 to +60 °C.

In which position may the battery be operated?

Installation and operation are permitted up to 90 degrees from the upright position. Permanent overhead installation is not intended.

May the SWL1100 be operated in a closed housing?

VRLA batteries emit hydrogen gas, which can form explosive mixtures when combined with air. Therefore, operation in hermetically sealed housings is prohibited. Sufficient ventilation must be ensured.
