The Yuasa SWL+4300FR is the ultimate combination of maximum performance and maximum safety. It is the flagship of the SWL-Plus series and combines an enormous capacity of 140 Ah (up to 150Ah C20) with a housing of the highest fire protection class (UL94 V-0).

This almost 50 kg 12V block was developed for hyperscale data centres and critical industrial facilities where no compromises can be made. It delivers the highest possible energy density on this footprint while meeting the strictest structural fire protection requirements. With a design life of 12+ years the SWL+4300FR is the foundation for high-availability power supply systems.

Highlights at a glance

  • FR safety housing (Flame Retardant): Housing and cover are made of flame-retardant ABS plastic according to the UL94 V-0 standard. In the event of fire, the material extinguishes itself. This is often a mandatory requirement for insurance cover in data centres, banks and public buildings.
  • Maximum power density (4300 watts): The figure "4300" marks the current technical maximum output (watts per block) in this size. The battery manages even the most extreme load transients and inrush currents of modern IT infrastructure with ease.
  • Enormous capacity (140 Ah): With 140 Ah (C10), this block offers maximum reserves. It provides long autonomy times without the need to resort to high-maintenance wet cells or complex 2-volt systems.
  • Eurobat "Very Long Life": Classified for a service life of 12+ years (design life up to 15 years). This guarantees investment security and minimises the logistical effort for replacement (which is a significant cost factor at this weight).
  • HT Element X technology: The special hybrid alloy of the grid plates minimises internal corrosion and makes the massive block resistant to thermal stress and ageing.
  • Maintenance-free & safe: VRLA-AGM technology (Absorbent Glass Mat). The electrolyte is bound, the battery is leak-proof, low-gassing and vibration-resistant.

  • High-end data centres: Where maximum kW performance and fire protection requirements (V-0) coincide.
  • Large UPS systems: For safeguarding entire building complexes or production lines.

Installation & safety instructions

  • Critical weight: A single block weighs around 50 kg. Installation must never be carried out manually by a single person. Use lifting equipment (battery lifts) and always check the floor load capacity (kg/m²) in the server room.
  • Connection (M8): Currents of more than 3000 amps can flow here in the event of a short circuit. The M8 bolts must always be tightened to 6 Nm. A loose connection will immediately cause dangerous heat to develop at this power level.
  • FR compliance: Never replace a defective block in an existing FR string with a standard version (black/HB), as this cancels out the fire protection class of the entire system.
  • Cooling: Ensure that there is approximately 10mm space between the blocks for air circulation, to prevent heat build-up inside the block.

FAQs about the Yuasa SWL+4300FR

What is the difference compared to the standard SWL+4300?

The difference is solely in the case material.

  • SWL+4300: Standard ABS (UL94 HB).
  • SWL+4300FR: Flame-retardant (UL94 V-0). Technically, both deliver the same enormous performance. However, the FR version is required in most commercial tenders (especially data centres).

Will this battery fit in my old cabinet for 120Ah batteries?

Be careful with the weight. The dimensions (footprint) are often similar to 120Ah blocks (e.g. SWL3800). But the SWL+4300FR is significantly heavier (~50kg vs. ~40kg). Be sure to check if your cabinet shelves can support this additional weight before you upgrade.

Why M8 connections?

With a discharge capacity of 4300 watts per block, currents are so high that an M6 thread would become too hot. M8 offers more contact area and safety for the transmission of these enormous amounts of energy.
