Yuasa SWL+3500 Industrial VRLA battery - 12V / 110.2Ah (Maximum Power)
Description
Product information
The Yuasa SWL+3500 is the flagship of the SWL-Plus series in the 12-volt segment. With an impressive nominal capacity of 110.2 Ah (C10) and an extreme power density, this block goes beyond the limits of conventional 100Ah batteries.
Developed for high-end UPS systems, the SWL+3500 delivers maximum energy in the standard footprint of a 100Ah block. The code number "3500" stands for the enormous wattage that this battery can provide with short discharge times. In combination with the Eurobat "Very Long Life" Classification (12+ years), this is the ultimate solution for data centres that require maximum autonomy time and maximum operational reliability.
Highlights at a glance
- Maximum capacity (110.2 Ah): With over 110 Ah this block offers approx. 10% more energy than standard 100Ah class batteries. This means longer bridging times without taking up additional space in the battery cabinet.
- SWL+ High Rate Performance (3500 Watt): The battery is optimised for high-current discharges. It delivers extremely high currents for short periods in order to supply even the most powerful server racks with a stable power supply in the event of a mains failure (high watt/cell density).
- Eurobat "Very Long Life": Classified for a service life of 12+ years (design life up to 15 years). This guarantees long-term planning security and massively reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO).
- HT Element X technology: The advanced hybrid alloy of the grid plates minimises internal corrosion and water loss. This makes the battery extremely resistant to ageing, even with long-term charge retention.
- Maintenance-free & leak-proof: VRLA-AGM technology (Absorbent Glass Mat). The electrolyte is bound in the fleece. The battery is sealed, has low gassing (recombination >99%) and does not require topping up with water.
- Robust housing: Made of resistant ABS plastic (usually also available as FR version with UL94 V-0).
Areas of application
The SWL+3500 is designed for applications that do not tolerate compromises:
- Large UPS systems (data centre): Maximum power in minimum space.
- Telecommunications: Buffering of main distributors and mains nodes.
- Energy provider: Control technology in power plants.
- Emergency lighting: Large centralised battery systems (ZSV).
- Industry: DC supply systems and switchgear.
Installation & safety instructions
- Weight warning: A single block weighs almost 40 kg. Handling must be carried out with lifting aids or in pairs. Check the load capacity of your raised floor or shelving system.
- Connection (M8): Due to the enormous currents (short-circuit current >2500A), the M8 connections installed. The recommended tightening torque is approx. 6 Nm. Loose connections can immediately lead to arcing at this power.
- Ventilation: Battery compartments must be ventilated in accordance with EN 50272-2.
- Charging voltage: 2.275 V/cell ±1% at 20°C (corresponds to 13.65 V block voltage).

FAQs for Yuasa SWL+3500
Will the SWL+3500 fit where the SWL3300 used to be?
Yes. The dimensions (footprint approx. 305 x 168 mm) are generally identical. You can use the SWL+3500 as a power upgrade. You get more capacity (110Ah vs ~100Ah) and a higher current carrying capacity with the same space requirement.
Is the battery suitable for solar storage?
Rather not. Like all batteries in the SWL series, the SWL+3500 is a pure standby battery (UPS). It is designed to last for years when fully charged and then deliver plenty of power once. It is not economical for the daily cycle operation (charging/discharging) of a PV system. For this purpose, batteries from Yuasa REC or SLE series are recommended.
Is the battery also available in a flame-retardant version?
Yes. The version SWL+3500FR has a housing in accordance with UL94 V-0. For batteries in this power class, the FR version is almost exclusively required in commercial tenders. Please check this when placing your order.Properties
