Yuasa SWL+3000 Industrial VRLA battery - 12V / 93.6Ah (High Rate Power)

Description

Product information

The Yuasa SWL+3000 is an absolute powerhouse within the SWL+ Series. With a specific nominal capacity of 93.6 Ah (often also listed in the 90-100Ah class) and extreme power output, this 12-volt unit redefines the standard for high-performance UPS systems.

It was developed to provide maximum amounts of energy in a compact footprint. The figure "3000" stands for the impressive wattage per unit. Thanks to the Eurobat "Very Long Life" classification (12+ years), it is the preferred choice for operators of critical infrastructures who do not want to compromise on availability.

Highlights at a glance

  • Extreme power density (3000 Watt): The SWL+3000 is optimised for high current discharges. It delivers up to 40% more power than conventional batteries of comparable size. This is crucial to be able to supply powerful server racks without voltage drop in the event of a mains failure.
  • High capacity (93.6 Ah): With 93.6 Ah the battery offers a solid balance between high peak load capability and long bridging time. It is ideally suited as a replacement for older 90Ah or 100Ah batteries.
  • Eurobat "Very Long Life": Designed for a lifetime of 12+ years (design life up to 15 years). This minimises operating costs (TCO), as replacement intervals can be significantly extended.
  • Robust construction: The hybrid grid technology (lead-calcium-tin) minimises corrosion. The battery is resistant to ageing, even with continuous trickle charging (float charge).
  • Maintenance-free & leak-proof: VRLA-AGM technology (Absorbent Glass Mat). The electrolyte is bound in the fleece, which makes the battery leak-proof (not considered dangerous goods according to IATA) and eliminates the need for water maintenance.

Areas of application

The SWL+3000 is designed for applications with the highest energy requirements:

  • UPS systems (data centre): Critical supply of IT infrastructure.
  • Telecommunication: Buffering of grid nodes and transmitters.
  • Energy suppliers: Control systems in power stations.
  • Emergency lighting: Large centralised battery installations (ZSV).
  • Starting applications: Emergency generators (gensets).

Installation & safety instructions

  • Weight: With over 33 kg this unit is very heavy ("Two-Person-Lift"). Use lifting aids when installing in racks.
  • Connection (M8): Due to the high currents, the SWL+3000 usually has M8 connectors. The recommended torque is approx. 6 Nm. Check this before installation, as smaller models often have M6 terminals.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in the battery room in accordance with EN 50272-2.
  • Charge voltage: 2.275 V/cell ±1% at 20°C (corresponds to 13.65 V unit voltage).

FAQs for Yuasa SWL+3000

What is the difference between SWL3000 and SWL3300?

Both batteries have similar dimensions, but different performance data.

  • SWL3000: Optimised for approx. 3000 Watt / 93.6 Ah.
  • SWL3300: The even more powerful model with approx. 3300 Watt / ~100 Ah. Please check your data sheet and the requirements of your UPS. They are often mechanically interchangeable, but dimensioned differently electrically.

Is the SWL+3000 also available in FR (flame retardant)?

Yes. For data centres and public buildings, the SWL+3000FR (with UL94 V-0 housing) is available and highly recommended. Almost only FR types are installed by default in this power segment.

Can I install this battery horizontally?

Yes. Thanks to AGM technology, the electrolyte is bound. Mounting on the longitudinal side is common to increase packing density in racks. Ensure that the terminals do not point permanently downwards (overhead mounting is prohibited).
