The Yuasa SWL+2800-6FR is the high-end safety variant of the powerful 6-volt monoblock. It combines the massive capacity of 184 Ah with the extreme high current capability of the SWL+ series and a housing of the highest fire protection class (UL94 V-0).

This battery is specially designed for Large UPS systems designed for use in sensitive areas (data centres, banks, hospitals) where, in addition to reliability, structural fire protection is a top priority. The 6V architecture provides a thermal robustness that is often superior to 12V batteries in this performance class.

• FR safety housing (Flame Retardant): The housing is made of flame-retardant ABS plastic in accordance with the standard UL94 V-0. In the event of fire, the material extinguishes automatically. This is a mandatory requirement in many tenders for server rooms and public buildings in order to ensure insurance cover.
• Massive 6V capacity (184 Ah): With 184 Ah (C10), this block offers enormous energy reserves. The use of only 3 solid cells (instead of 6 small ones as with 12V) reduces the number of internal connectors and increases stability at high load currents.

• Installation position: Standing or lying on the long side possible.
• Mixed operation prohibited: Never mix FR batteries (grey/UL94 V-0) with standard batteries (black/HB) in one string, as this will invalidate the fire protection certification of the entire system.

What is the advantage of 6V over 12V in this size?

12V blocks with 180Ah would be extremely heavy and thermally difficult to control. The division into 6V blocks allows better thermal management and more robust plate connectors. In addition, the service life expectancy of 6V blocks in real operation is often more stable than that of high rate 12V blocks.

How can I recognise the FR version?

The "FR" in the model name and the imprint "UL94 V-0" on the casing cover are crucial. Yuasa often uses a grey casing for FR models, while standard models are often black (however, this can vary depending on the batch, the label counts).

Will this battery fit in my old shelf for SWL2500-6?

Normally yes. The dimensions (footprint approx. 297 x 203 mm) are an industry standard for this performance class. The SWL+2800-6FR offers more power for the same size and often a longer service life than older generations.
