The Yuasa SWL+2000 is a high-performance monobloc from the advanced SWL+ (Plus) series. With a nominal capacity of 57.6 Ah (often specified on a C10 or C20 basis, depending on the datasheet), this 12V battery offers outstanding energy density in a compact form factor.

It represents the technological upgrade to classic battery models (such as the SWL1800 or NPL series). By optimising the internal plate structure and using the hybrid pure lead grid, the SWL+2000 delivers significantly higher discharge currents per cell, making it the ideal choice for modern, high-load UPS systems and critical emergency power supplies.

  • Performance increase (High Rate): The SWL+ series is specially designed to deliver extremely high amounts of energy in a short time (high wattage per cell). The SWL+2000 provides more power than standard AGM batteries of the same size, bridging critical seconds during mains switching.

Assembly & operation

  • Charging voltage: In standby parallel operation (float), 2.275 V/cell (±1%) at 20°C are required. This corresponds to 13.65 V for the block.
  • Tightening torque: The M6 terminal bolts should be tightened to approx. 4.8 Nm. Use insulated tools to avoid short circuits when mounting in the rack.
  • Storage: Thanks to low self-discharge (<3% per month), the battery can be stored. Recharge should be carried out at the latest after 6 months to prevent sulphation.

FAQs about the Yuasa SWL+2000

What does "SWL+2000" mean? Is that the capacity?

No. The number "2000" in the Yuasa nomenclature often refers to the power in watts per block (for a short discharge, e.g. 10 min). It indicates that this battery has a very high power density. The capacity is, as specified by you, 57.6 Ah.

Does this battery replace the older SWL1800?

Yes, often. The SWL1800 also had 57.6 Ah. The SWL+2000 is the modern upgrade with improved high current performance (hence the higher number 2000 vs. 1800) and often longer life (Plus series). The mechanical dimensions are usually compatible.

Is the battery suitable for solar installations?

Rather not. The SWL+ series is optimised for standby operation (continuous charging, seldom discharged with high current). For solar installations where the battery is charged and discharged daily (cyclical operation), batteries like the Yuasa NPC or REC series are much better suited.
