Yuasa REC22-12I Cyclic industrial battery 12 V 22 Ah
Description
Product information
The Yuasa REC22-12I is a cycle-resistant VRLA industrial battery. It supplies 12 volts and 22 Ah (at 20 hours) and features a high cycle life, low impedance and stable power output in a compact design. It is ideally suited for a wide range of applications, including mobile devices, cleaning machines, rehabilitation and medical technology, photovoltaic buffering, measurement and control technology, as well as UPS systems in cyclic operation.
Highlights at a glance
- Cycle-resistant: Up to 1400 cycles at 25 percent DOD
- Reliable capacity: 22 Ah at 20-hour discharge to 10.5 V, 19.7 Ah at 10-hour discharge to 10.8 V.
- Flexible installation: Operation possible in any position, except permanently upside down.
- Low self-discharge: About 3 percent per month at 20 °C.
- Case material: ABS to UL94 HB.
Maximum performance for demanding cycle applications
The REC22-12I is designed for repeated charging and discharging operations. AGM technology and valve-regulated oxygen recombination ensure efficient gas retention and low maintenance requirements. Low impedance supports high peak currents, so sensitive loads are reliably supplied even with dynamic load profiles.
Efficiency meets long service life
In standby operation, a float charge voltage of 13.65 V ±1 percent per block is applied, which is adjusted by a temperature compensation of minus 3 mV per cell and degree Celsius. For cyclic or boost charging, 14.52 V ±3 percent per block is provided, with compensation of minus 4 mV per cell and degree Celsius. The recommended current limit is 5.5 A in both float and cyclic operation. The service life in use is confirmed by the EUROBAT classification General Purpose 6 to 9 years and a Yuasa Design Life specification of 7 years at 20 °C.
Technology for flexible applications
The operating temperature range includes discharge from -15 °C to +40 °C, charging from 0 °C to +40 °C and storage from -15 °C to +50 °C. Each cell is equipped with a low pressure relief valve. As VRLA batteries release hydrogen, it is important not to operate them in gas-tight enclosures and to ensure adequate ventilation.

FAQ about the Yuasa REC22-12I
For which applications is the REC22-12I typical?
The REC22-12I is ideally suited for cyclic operations in the areas of mobility, leisure and industry, as it is designed for high cycle resistance and rapid recovery after deep discharge.
How cycle-resistant is the REC22-12I?
The REC22-12I typically exhibits the following cycle resistance up to a remaining capacity of 80%: 300 cycles are possible at 100% depth of discharge (DoD), 500 cycles at 75% DoD, 600 cycles at 50% DoD and 1400 cycles at 25% DoD.
Are there any special safety features?
VRLA batteries can release hydrogen gas. Ensure sufficient ventilation and avoid operation in hermetically sealed enclosures. Each cell is equipped with a low pressure relief valve.
Which chargers or solar charge controllers are suitable?
Use constant voltage devices suitable for VRLA-AGM batteries. Observe the voltages specified in the data sheet and take temperature compensation into account.
How is the battery installed?
The battery can be installed in any position, but not permanently upside down. The electrical connection is made via M5 thread connections. Ensure a tightening torque of 2 to 3 Nm, correct polarity and adequate ventilation.
