The Yuasa YB16AL-A2 is a powerful 12V lead-acid battery from the proven YuMicron series. With a nominal capacity of 16 Ah, it was specially developed for high-performance motorbikes and vehicles that require increased starting power, such as the legendary Yamaha V-Max 1200 or various Ducati models (916, 748, Monster). The innovative YuMicron technology enables, thanks to a special grid design, a lower internal resistance and thus up to 30% more starting power than conventional standard batteries. In addition, the "Sulphate Stop" technology effectively protects against the plate sulphation that shortens service life during longer periods of standstill.

For which motorbikes is this battery suitable?

The YB16AL-A2 is the standard for many classic Ducati models (e.g. 748, 916, 996, Monster 600/750/900 up to year approx. 2000, ST2, ST4) as well as for the Yamaha V-Max 1200 (VMX12) and the XV 750 Virago. Please always compare the dimensions and pole arrangement with your old battery before purchase.

Where is the positive terminal?

For the YB16AL-A2, the positive terminal is on the right-hand side when looking at the connections from the front. The negative terminal is on the left. This is particularly important because battery cables on motorbikes are often very accurately fitted.

Is battery acid included in the delivery?

As this is a "Dry Charged" battery, it must be filled with acid (sulphuric acid density 1.28) before first use. Whether an acid pack is included depends on the respective dealer’s offer – please check the delivery contents in the shop.
