Yuasa Lead-acid battery with 6V and 3.7Ah - NP4-6
Description
Product information
The Yuasa NP4-6 is a compact VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) battery with 6 volts and 3.7 Ah capacity. It has been specially developed for use in safety-related systems, medical devices and small consumers and stands out for its reliable performance, long service life and high operational safety.
Highlights at a glance
- Solid capacity: 3.7 Ah for reliable energy supply for smaller devices.
- Space-saving: Compact dimensions of only 70 × 47 × 105.5 mm.
- Flexible installation: Usable in almost any position, except permanently upside down.
- Safe and low-maintenance: Equipped with low pressure release valves.
- EUROBAT class: “Standard Commercial” up to 5 years life span.
- High load capacity: Maximum discharge current of 120 A for 1 second.
Compact power for diverse applications
The NP4-6 is ideal for applications where constant power output is required in confined spaces. It offers a capacity of 3.7 Ah for a 10-hour discharge down to 1.8 V/cell at 20 °C and provides reliable energy even with short-term load peaks up to 120 A for 1 second.
Durable and robust
The NP4-6 has a EUROBAT classification “Standard Commercial” and achieves a service life of up to 5 years under optimal conditions. The self-discharge is only about 3 % per month at 20 °C, ideal for reliable use after extended periods of inactivity.
The battery has a housing made of high-quality ABS plastic (UL94:HB) and is thus robust and resistant to mechanical influences. A flame-retardant housing variant (UL94:V0) is optionally available.
Reliable technology for highest demands
The NP4-6 is equipped with Faston plug connections (4.75 mm) and, thanks to VRLA technology (valve-regulated), can be operated with low maintenance. Each cell features a self-closing low-pressure release valve that reliably regulates the gas pressure inside.
For float charging, the recommended voltage is 6.825 V (±1 %) per block, for cyclic operation 7.26 V (±3 %). No limitation of the charging current is necessary for float charging; for cyclic operation, the maximum charging current is 1 A.
The battery meets the quality requirements according to ISO 9001 and can be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner at the end of its service life.

FAQs about the Yuasa NP4-6 lead-acid battery
Which applications is the Yuasa NP4-6 suitable for?
The Yuasa NP4‑6 is a maintenance-free, sealed 6 Volt / 4 Ah VRLA lead-acid industrial battery with AGM technology. It is specially designed for standby and light cyclic applications, such as UPS systems, alarm and security technology, emergency lighting, telecommunications equipment or small charged devices. Due to its robust ABS housing, it is widely established internationally for industrial use.
How many charge cycles are possible?
In cyclic operation, about 1,000 charge cycles are possible, depending on the charging system and depth of discharge.
How is charging (float vs. cyclic) carried out and which voltage values must be observed?
- Float charging voltage: approx. 6.825 V (= 2.275 V/cell) at 20 °C; temperature compensation: –3 mV/°C/cell
- Cyclic (boost): approx. 7.26 V block voltage (= 2.42 V/cell); –4 mV/°C/cell temperature compensation
- Charge limit for cyclic charging: ≤ 1.0 A (~0.25 C) recommended
- Note: Use a CI/CV charger specifically for AGM/UPS batteries, ideally with temperature compensation
What is the self-discharge rate and what should be considered during storage?
At 20 °C, the self-discharge rate is about 3 % per month. The battery can be stored at room temperature for up to 12 months, provided it is regularly recharged, without permanent loss of capacity.
Can several NP4‑6 batteries be connected in parallel or in series?
In principle, it is possible to connect several batteries in parallel for higher capacity or in series for higher voltage. Only identically stored and identical batteries from the same production batch should be combined. A mixture of different ages or capacity states is not recommended
