Yuasa Lead-acid battery with 12V and 7Ah - NP7-12
Description
Product information
The Yuasa NP7-12 is a powerful, valve-regulated lead-acid battery (VRLA) with a nominal voltage of 12 volts and a capacity of 7 Ah. It impresses with its reliable performance, robust design and versatile application options, ideal for industrial applications, safety and emergency power systems.
Highlights at a glance
- Reliable capacity: 7 Ah at 12 V for constant power supply.
- Compact format: 151 × 65 × 97.5 mm, ideal for limited installation space.
- Flexible installation: Can be installed in any position, except permanently upside down.
- Maintenance free: VRLA technology with low pressure drain valves.
- Durable: EUROBAT classification "Standard Commercial" for up to 5 years of use.
- High current carrying capacity: Up to 210 A discharge current for 1 second.
Robust performance for demanding applications
The NP7-12 offers a 20-hour capacity of 7 Ah (up to 1.75 V/cell at 20°C) and a 10-hour capacity of 6.4 Ah (up to 1.8 V/cell). Thanks to its high current carrying capacity of up to 210 A for 1 second, the battery is particularly suitable for emergency power systems, UPS systems and safety-related applications.
Maintenance-free operation and long service life
The NP7-12 is classified as "Standard Commercial" according to EUROBAT and offers a service life of up to 5 years at 20°C ambient temperature. The self-discharge is only about 3% per month, ensuring a high level of operational readiness even after extended storage.
The housing is made of durable ABS plastic (UL94:HB) and is also available in a flame-retardant version (UL94:V0) upon request. The battery meets the ISO 9001 quality standard.
Easy integration and reliable technology
The battery is equipped with Faston connectors (4.75 mm) and can be easily integrated into almost any system. Installation is possible in all positions, except permanently upside down.
Each of the six cells is fitted with a low-pressure relief valve, which reseals automatically after pressure equalisation for maintenance-free and safe operation. The recommended float charge voltage is 13.65 V (±1%) per unit, for cyclic operation 14.5 V (±3%). The maximum charging current is 1.75 A during cyclic operation; for float charging there is no limit.

FAQs about the Yuasa lead-acid battery with 12V and 7Ah
How long does the NP7-12 last?
The NP7-12 offers a service life of up to 5 years at 20°C ambient temperature and complies with the EUROBAT category "Standard Commercial".
For which applications is the battery suitable?
The battery is suitable for:
- UPS systems
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Medical devices
- Emergency lighting
- Telecommunications and control systems
Is flexible installation possible?
Yes, the battery can be operated in almost any position, just avoid a permanently upside down mounting position.
What safety features are integrated?
The battery features a robust ABS housing and low-pressure relief valves for safe gas pressure regulation. A flame-retardant housing is optionally available.
How and with which parameters is the NP7‑12 charged correctly?
- Float charging voltage: 13.65 V unit voltage (2.275 V/cell) at 20°C, temperature compensation –3 mV/cell/°C.
- Cyclic (boost) charging voltage: 14.5 V unit (2.42 V/cell), compensated with –4 mV/cell/°C.
- Recommended charging current for cyclic operation: up to approx. 1.75 A (~0.25 C)
What is the maximum discharge current and how good is the deep discharge resistance?
- Short-term peak current (1 sec): 210 A,
- 1‑minute current: 48 A
- Internal impedance: about 23 mΩ at 1 kHz.
The battery recovers excellently after deep discharge and is structurally robust in design
What is the self-discharge during storage and what should be observed?
At 20°C, the self-discharge is about 3% per month. The NP7‑12 can be stored for up to 12 months, provided it is recharged regularly. Storage should be between –20°C and +60°C, ideally not exceeding +30°C.
