It impresses with its reliable performance, robust construction and versatile applications, making it ideal for industrial applications, security and emergency power systems.
Highlights at a glance
- Reliable capacity: 7 Ah at 12 V for a constant power supply.
- VdS approved: G 189099 for safety-critical applications
- Compact design: 151 × 65 × 97.5 mm, ideal for limited installation space.
- Flexible installation: Can be installed in any position, except permanently upside down.
- Maintenance-free: VRLA technology with low-pressure vent valves.
- Long-lasting: EUROBAT classification “Standard Commercial” for up to 5 years of service life.
- High current-carrying capacity: Up to 210 A discharge current for 1 second.
Rugged performance for demanding applications
The NP7-12 delivers a 20-hour capacity of 7 Ah (up to 1.75 V/cell at 20 °C) and a 10-hour capacity of 6.4 Ah (up to 1.8 V/cell). Thanks to its high current-carrying capacity of up to 210 A for 1 second, the battery is particularly suitable for emergency power systems, UPS systems and safety-critical applications.
Maintenance-free operation and long service life
The NP7-12 is classified as “Standard Commercial” according to EUROBAT and offers a service life of up to 5 years at an ambient temperature of 20 °C. Self-discharge is only approx. 3% per month, which ensures high operational readiness even during prolonged storage.
The casing is made of durable ABS plastic (UL94:HB) and is available in a flame-retardant version (UL94:V0) upon request. The battery complies with the ISO 9001 quality standard.
Easy integration and reliable technology
The battery is fitted with Faston connectors (4.75 mm) and can be easily integrated into almost any system. It can be installed in any position, except permanently upside down.
Each of the six cells is fitted with a low-pressure relief valve which, once pressure has been equalised, closes automatically to ensure maintenance-free and safe operation. The recommended charging voltage for float charging is 13.65 V (±1%) per block, and 14.5 V (±3%) for cyclic operation. The maximum charging current is 1.75 A in cyclic operation; there is no limit for float charging.

FAQs on the Yuasa 12V 7Ah lead-acid battery
What is the service life of the NP7-12?
The NP7-12 offers a service life of up to 5 years at an ambient temperature of 20 °C and meets the EUROBAT ‘Standard Commercial’ category.
What applications is the battery suitable for?
The battery is suitable for:
- UPS systems
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Medical devices
- Emergency lighting
- Telecommunications and control systems
Is flexible installation possible?
Yes, the battery can be operated in almost any position; only a permanently upside-down mounting position should be avoided.
What safety features are built in?
The battery features a robust ABS housing and low-pressure relief valves for safe gas pressure regulation. A flame-retardant housing is available as an option.
How and with what parameters should the NP7‑12 be charged correctly?
- Float charging voltage: 13.65 V block voltage (2.275 V/cell) at 20 °C, temperature compensation –3 mV/cell/°C.
- Cyclic (boost) charging voltage: 14.5 V block (2.42 V/cell), compensated by –4 mV/cell/°C.
- Recommended charging current for cyclic operation: up to approx. 1.75 A (~0.25 C)
What is the maximum discharge current and how effective is the deep-discharge protection?
- Short-term peak current (1 sec.): 210 A,
- 1-minute current: 48 A
- Internal impedance: approx. 23 mΩ at 1 kHz.
The battery recovers excellently after deep discharge and has a robust structural design
What is the rate of self-discharge during storage and what should be taken into account?
At 20 °C, self-discharge is approx. 3% per month. The NP7‑12 can be stored for up to 12 months, provided it is recharged regularly. Storage should take place at –20 °C to +60 °C, ideally at a maximum of +30 °C.
