Yuasa Lead-acid battery with 12V and 65Ah - NPC65-12I
Description
Product information
The Yuasa NPC65/12 is a highly reliable, cycle-resistant VRLA battery with 12 volts and 65 Ah. It has been specially developed for applications that require repeated charging and discharging cycles. Thanks to its robust design and long service life, it is the ideal solution for electric wheelchairs, golf caddies, solar storage, medical devices and other mobile or stationary applications. The NPC series is characterised by its long cycle life, making it an excellent choice for demanding consumer applications.
Highlights at a glance
- Cycle stability: Designed for up to 350 cycles at 50% depth of discharge (DOD).
- High reliability: Proven Yuasa quality for safe and stable power supply.
- Low self-discharge: Only loses around 3% capacity per month at 20 °C, enabling long storage times.
- Simple installation: Robust screw terminals for safe and easy mounting.
- Maintenance-free operation: The VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) technology makes the battery leak-proof and requires no regular maintenance.
Top performance for demanding applications
The NPC65/12 is the result of years of research and development. It stands up to the stresses of cyclic operation, making it indispensable for applications such as electric wheelchairs or solar systems. The battery delivers consistently high performance over a long service life without losing efficiency.
Efficiency meets long service life
For standby operation, a charging voltage of 13.65V ±1% (2.275V per cell) is recommended. This mode is ideal if the battery is permanently connected to a power source.
For cyclic operation a charging voltage of 14.7V ±3% (2.42V per cell) is required. This higher voltage ensures that the battery is fully recharged after each discharge and achieves the maximum number of cycles.
Technology for flexible applications
The wide temperature range allows for versatile applications: discharge from -15°C to +50°C, charge from -15°C to +50°C and storage from -20°C to +50°C. The robust case is made of impact-resistant ABS plastic, and each cell is equipped with a safety valve. Like all VRLA batteries, the NPC65/12 must not be operated in gas-tight housings as hydrogen gas may be generated.

FAQ about the Yuasa NPC65/12 VRLA battery
What is the NPC65/12 designed for?
The NPC series is a VRLA series that has been specially developed for cyclic operation. It is ideal for applications that require a reliable power supply over many charge and discharge cycles, such as electric wheelchairs, boats and solar power systems.
What is the capacity of the battery?
The nominal voltage is 12V, the capacity is 65Ah at a discharge time of 20 hours.
How do I charge the battery correctly?
For cyclic operation, use a charging voltage of 14.7V to ensure full capacity. For standby operation (continuous charge), 13.65V is ideal to maximise the service life.
What is the difference between NPC and NP?
The NPC series has been optimised for cyclic operation, whereas the NP series is designed for standby operation. The NPC batteries can therefore handle a larger number of charge and discharge cycles than the NP series.Documents 1
