The Yuasa YTZ8V (as "WC" / Wet Charged version) is the ultimate performance upgrade for the widely used YTX7L battery size. It offers a significantly higher capacity of 7 Ah (10h) or 7.4 Ah (20h) and more starting power in exactly the same dimensions. This makes it the first choice for modern motorbikes and scooters (such as the Yamaha R3 or Honda SH) that have a lot of electronics on board or have start-stop systems. Thanks to factory activation, it is immediately ready for use and extremely safe.

The standard for Yamaha R3 & Honda SH

The YTZ8V is the modern original equipment battery for vehicles that would previously have used a YTX7L but now require more power. It is standard in the Yamaha YZF-R3, the Yamaha MT-03, newer Honda PCX 125/150 models (from approx. 2018) as well as the popular Honda SH 125i / 150i range (latest models). It ensures that ABS, LED lighting and start-stop systems are reliably supplied.

What is the difference to the YTX7L-BS?

The dimensions are identical (113 x 70 x 130 mm), but the performance is different.

YTX7L-BS: 6 Ah / 100 A (standard).
YTZ8V (your battery): 7.4 Ah / 120 A (High Performance).

The YTZ8V is the direct, more powerful upgrade for the YTX7L-BS. It fits in the same holder, but offers more reserves for accessories or start-stop operation. If you previously had a YTX7L, you can easily switch to the YTZ8V.

What is the difference to the YTZ7V?

The difference lies in the height.

YTZ7V: 120 mm high.
YTZ8V: 130 mm high.

The YTZ8V is 1 cm higher. It does not fit in vehicles that are built specifically for the YTZ7V (e.g. Yamaha NMAX), as every millimetre counts and the seat would otherwise not close.

What is the difference to the YTZ7S?

YTZ7S: 105 mm high (very compact).
YTZ8V: 130 mm high (high and narrow).

The batteries are not mechanically compatible as the height differences are too great (2.5 cm).

What does "WC" mean?

"WC" stands for "Wet Charged". The battery has already been filled, activated and sealed at the factory. This guarantees the highest quality and tightness. You don't have to fill it with acid – simply install it and drive off.
