What is the difference to the YTX7A-BS?

The dimensions are almost identical (150x87x93 mm), but the performance is fundamentally different.

• YTX7A-BS: Standard technology, approx. 105 A starting current.
• YTZ10S: High-performance technology, 190 A starting current.

The YTZ10S is the modern power upgrade in the same case. You can often replace a YTX7A-BS with a YTZ10S to get more starting power. Conversely, you should never install a weak YTX7A in a motorcycle (e.g. Yamaha R1) that needs the strong YTZ10S – it would not start the engine.

What does "WC" mean?

"WC" stands for "Wet Charged". In the YTZ series, this means that the battery has already been filled with acid, formed and permanently sealed at the Yuasa factory. You do not have to (and cannot) open this battery. It is maintenance-free for its entire service life.

Can I install the battery lying down?

Yes. The YTZ10S is one of the few batteries that are officially approved for lying mounting positions because it is factory activated and "leak-proof" sealed. Many Yamaha R1 models use this feature and have the battery mounted at an angle or lying down.

How do I charge this battery?

As it is a high-performance AGM battery, it is sensitive to overvoltage (over 14.8 V). Be sure to use a modern, process-controlled charger (e.g. CTEK, Optimate) suitable for AGM/MF batteries. Do not use old car chargers.
