The Yuasa YBX7027 is a latest generation EFB battery (Enhanced Flooded Battery) from the YBX7000 series. It has been specially developed for European compact and mid-range vehicles with start-stop systems. With a capacity of 60 Ah (often replaces 55-65 Ah batteries) and a cold start current of 560 A (EN), it fits into the common L2 standard housing. Thanks to cutting-edge additives, it offers significantly improved charge acceptance and cycle life compared to conventional wet batteries.

FAQs about the Yuasa YBX7027

My old battery is 65Ah, can I use the YBX7027 (60Ah)?

Yes, this is generally possible without any problems. The capacity specification (Ah) varies according to manufacturer and technology in this case (L2) usually between 60 Ah and 64 Ah. The decisive factors are the size (242x175x190 mm) and the technology (EFB). The YBX7027 is designed as a direct replacement for this class.

What is the difference to the AGM battery YBX9027?

The YBX7027 is an EFB battery (with liquid electrolyte), the YBX9027 is an AGM battery (electrolyte bound in fleece).

• If your car originally had an EFB: Take the YBX7027.
• If your car originally had an AGM: You must take the YBX9027 (AGM). Downgrading from AGM to EFB is not recommended.

Will this battery fit in my VW Golf?

If your Golf has a start-stop system and the battery is about 24 cm long, then yes. However, there is also the larger L3 housing (278 mm, approx. 70 Ah) in the Golf. Please measure the length of your old battery to be sure (24 cm = YBX7027, 28 cm = YBX7096).

Do I need to register the battery?

Yes. For vehicles with battery management (BMS) – which is the case for almost all cars with start-stop – the new battery should be registered in the control unit so that the system adjusts the charging curve and the start-stop system works correctly again immediately.
