Yuasa Car battery YBX5335 12V 100Ah 830A (YBX5000 series)
Description
Product information
The Yuasa YBX5335 is the twin sister of the YBX5334, but with reverse pole arrangement (positive pole left). As part of the YBX5000 Silver High Performance SMF series, it is specially designed for large Asian SUVs and pickups that require the JIS format "D31R". With a capacity of around 100 Ah (often specified as 90-95Ah, but in the 100Ah class) and an enormous cold cranking current of 830 A (EN), it offers maximum power. Thanks to the sealed double cover technology, it is 100% maintenance-free and delivers up to 35% more starting power than standard batteries.
Highlights at a glance
- JIS format (D31R): Large Asian housing (approx. 306 mm length, 225 mm height) for vehicles requiring the positive terminal on the left side.
- Pole arrangement 1: The positive terminal is on the left, making it the appropriate replacement for batteries marked "R" (e.g. 105D31R).
- Ideal for 24V/dual systems: Often installed together with the YBX5334 in large SUVs (e.g. Land Cruiser) that require two batteries.
- Maximum cranking power: 830 A cold cranking amps provide reliable starting of large displacement diesel engines even in extremely cold conditions.
- SMF technology: The patented, sealed tilt double cover prevents acid leakage (VDA test passed) and drastically reduces water loss.
- Maintenance-free: No need to top up with water during the entire service life thanks to the closed construction.
- User-friendly: Includes carrying handle for the heavy block and "Magic Eye" for quick charge status check.
The partner for large off-roaders (positive pole left)
The YBX5335 is often used in vehicles that either have the positive terminal on the left due to their design or have a two-battery system. A classic example is the Toyota Land Cruiser or Mitsubishi Pajero (diesel versions): These often have one battery on the left and one on the right side of the engine compartment. For this, a pair is needed: one YBX5334 (positive right) and one YBX5335 (positive left).

FAQs about the Yuasa YBX5335
What is the difference to the YBX5334?
The YBX5335 and the YBX5334 are technically identical (same dimensions, same performance). The only difference is the position of the poles.
- YBX5335 (D31R): Positive pole is on the left.
- YBX5334 (D31L): Positive pole is on the right. Please check exactly where the red positive cable is in your vehicle before purchasing, or whether you require both batteries as a pair.
Why do some cars have two batteries?
Many large diesel SUVs (Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan) have two batteries connected in parallel to supply the starter motor with very high current (12V), or because they use a 24V starting system. In these cases, both batteries usually need to be replaced at the same time to avoid damage. The combination of YBX5334 and YBX5335 is often required here.
Is the battery suitable for start-stop?
No. The YBX5335 is a conventional starter battery. Modern SUVs with start-stop automatic require an EFB battery (e.g. from the Yuasa YBX7000 series, type T110), as these have greater cycle stability.
How is the battery fixed in place?
As the battery has no base strip (Type N), it is usually held in place by a metal frame or clamp that is stretched over the battery lid and screwed to the body (Top Hold Down).
