The Yuasa YBX5110 is one of the most powerful flat starter batteries from the YBX5000 Silver High Performance SMF series. With a capacity of 85 Ah and an impressive cold cranking current of 800 A (EN), it offers maximum power for vehicles that use the long battery box (315 mm) but absolutely require the reduced height of 175 mm. It replaces the classic DIN type 58014 or 58043. This battery delivers up to 35% more starting power than standard batteries and is ideal for large diesel engines in Ford, Opel or BMW vehicles. Thanks to the sealed double lid technology, it is 100% maintenance-free and designed for approx. 50,000 starting operations.

The YBX5110 is the largest available battery in the "Low Box" (LB) segment. It is indispensable for vehicles such as the Ford Transit, Ford Mondeo (large diesel), Opel Insignia (diesel without start-stop) or older BMW 3 Series/5 Series (E36/E34/E39), some of which require the flat form factor. Fitting a standard battery (190 mm high) here often leads to problems with fastening or short circuits to the bodywork. It provides massive reserves for auxiliary heating and comfort electronics.

What is the difference to the YBX5100?

The YBX5110 is longer and more powerful. While the YBX5100 is around 278 mm long (75 Ah), the YBX5110 uses the 315 mm long case (LB4) and offers 85 Ah and 800 A starting current. If your battery box is large enough (31.5 cm), the YBX5110 is the stronger upgrade.

What is the difference to the YBX5115 or standard 100Ah batteries?

The YBX5115 or comparable 100Ah batteries are often 190 mm high (case L5). The YBX5110 is only 175 mm high. If your car (often Ford/Opel) technically depends on the flat form, a tall 100Ah battery will often not fit mechanically, although the length is often similar (315 vs 353 mm).

Is the battery suitable for Start-Stop?

No. The YBX5110 is a conventional starter battery. Vehicles with start-stop systems require an EFB battery. In this size (LB4) this would be the YBX7110 (EFB), as normal batteries cannot withstand the constant charge and discharge cycles.

What does DIN 58014 mean?

This is the old industry standard for 80Ah batteries in flat form. The YBX5110 is the modern successor with 85 Ah and significantly better cold cranking performance.
