The Yuasa YBX5020 is one of the largest and most powerful 12V starter batteries from the YBX5000 Silver High Performance SMF series. With an impressive capacity of 110 Ah and a cold start current of 900 A (EN), it offers maximum energy reserves for luxury class vehicles, large SUVs and vans. It delivers up to 35% more starting power than standard batteries and is designed for around 50,000 starting operations. Thanks to modern calcium/calcium technology and the sealed double lid, it is 100% maintenance-free.

FAQs about the Yuasa YBX5020

What is the difference to the YBX5019?

The difference is in the length. The YBX5019 is an L5 battery (353 mm long, 100 Ah). The YBX5020 is an L6 battery (393 mm long, 110 Ah). So it is 4 cm longer and offers even more capacity. Please be sure to check whether your battery compartment has space for almost 40 cm in length.

Is the battery suitable for start-stop?

No. The YBX5020 is a conventional lead-acid battery. Vehicles of this size with start-stop system or regenerative braking require an AGM battery (e.g. YBX9020), as these are more cycle resistant.

How heavy is this battery?

At approx. 26 kg, the YBX5020 is very heavy. Installation, especially in hard-to-reach places (e.g. under the driver's seat in vans or deep in the boot), should be carried out with care. Use the integrated carrying handles.

Does this battery replace the old Varta/Bosch 110Ah?

Yes, if the dimensions (393x175x190 mm) coincide. The YBX5020 is a direct, maintenance-free replacement for the classic 110Ah wet batteries in this format.
