The Yuasa YBX3054 is a compact 12V starter battery from the YBX3000 SMF-series (Sealed Maintenance Free). It is designed for Asian small cars that require the very narrow and tall JIS format B19/B20 (approx. 19 cm length). With 40 Ah capacity (often used as a replacement for old 35-45Ah types) and 340 A cold start current, it offers reliable performance for vehicles such as the Nissan Micra, Honda Jazz or older Suzuki models. Thanks to the sealed double lid, it is completely maintenance-free.

FAQs about the Yuasa YBX3054

What is the difference to the YBX3009?

The YBX3054 and YBX3009 have the same size (B19/B20) and thin posts. The difference is the pole arrangement:

• YBX3054: positive terminal right (Layout 0).
• YBX3009: positive terminal left (Layout 1). Please check on which side the red positive cable is located in your car before purchasing.

The battery has "thin posts". What does that mean?

This means that the connection posts have a smaller diameter than European standard batteries.

• Thin post (T3): Positive approx. 14.7 mm / negative approx. 13.0 mm.
• Standard post (T1): Positive approx. 19.5 mm / negative approx. 17.9 mm. The YBX3054 has thin posts. If your car has standard clamps, you need terminal adapter sleeves.

Will this battery fit if I am looking for a 45Ah battery?

The YBX3054 is physically very small (only 18.7 cm long). Real 45Ah batteries are usually somewhat longer (approx. 23.8 cm, type NS60).

• If your old battery is approx. 19-20 cm long : The YBX3054 is correct (even if "45Ah" was stated, this was often an optimistic description of older models).
