What is the difference compared to the YBX3017?

The difference lies in the height.

• YBX3019: Height 190 mm (standard L5).
• YBX3017: Height 175 mm (low LB5). The length (353 mm) is the same. Please check how much space you have upwards before purchase. If the battery box has no height restriction, the taller YBX3019 will often fit.

Is the battery suitable for start-stop vehicles?

No. The YBX3019 is a maintenance-free wet battery. It is not suitable for vehicles with start-stop systems or brake energy recuperation. For this you need an AGM battery (e.g. Yuasa YBX9019).

Will this battery fit in my BMW or Mercedes?

The L5 size (353x175x190mm) is a very common size for larger diesel and petrol engines in vehicles such as BMW (3 Series, 5 Series, X3, X5), Mercedes (C-Class, E-Class) or Audi (A4, A6). Provided your vehicle does not require an AGM battery (no start-stop), the YBX3019 is an excellent choice.

Do I need to vent the battery?

No, the battery is sealed and uses an internal labyrinth system to condense gases. For emergencies there is a central vent opening on the side. Ensure that any existing vehicle vent hoses are connected there. You must remove the transport plug (if present) on the side before installation.
