It fits the widespread L5 standard size (353 mm length, 190 mm height). What is the difference to the YBX3017?

The difference is in the height.

• YBX3019: Height 190 mm (standard L5).
• YBX3017: Height 175 mm (low LB5). The length (353 mm) is the same. Please check how much space you have at the top before purchasing. If the battery compartment has no height restriction, the taller YBX3019 will often fit.

Is the battery suitable for start-stop vehicles?

No. The YBX3019 is a maintenance-free wet cell battery. It is not suitable for vehicles with start-stop system or brake energy recuperation. For this you need an AGM battery (e.g. Yuasa YBX9019).

Will this battery fit my BMW or Mercedes?

The L5 size (353x175x190mm) is a very common size for larger diesel and petrol engines in vehicles such as BMW (3 Series, 5 Series, X3, X5), Mercedes (C-Class, E-Class) or Audi (A4, A6). As long as your vehicle does not require an AGM battery (no start-stop), the YBX3019 is an excellent choice.

Do I have to vent the battery?

No, the battery is sealed and uses an internal labyrinth system to condense gases. There is a central degassing opening on the side for emergencies. Make sure that any degassing hoses from the vehicle are connected there. The transport cap (if present) on the side must be removed before installation.
