What is the advantage compared to the YBX1012?

The YBX3012 belongs to the higher performance class (YBX3000). It offers more starts (approx. 30,000 vs. 20,000), higher capacity (50Ah vs. 45Ah) and has the safer, sealed tilt double lid (SMF), which the 1000 series does not have.

Does this battery fit if I previously had 36Ah or 44Ah?

Yes. The dimensions (207x175x175mm) are identical to most older 36Ah, 40Ah or 44Ah batteries (type L1). The YBX3012 is a technical upgrade and provides more reserves, which is particularly advantageous in winter or for short trips.

Do I need to open plugs for charging?

No. The YBX3012 is a "Sealed Maintenance Free" battery. It has no screw-on plugs. The housing is sealed and must not be opened. Degassing takes place centrally via side openings.

Is the battery suitable for start-stop vehicles?

No. Despite its high quality, the YBX3012 is a wet battery. Vehicles with start-stop system require an EFB battery (e.g. Yuasa YBX7012), as this has significantly higher cycle stability.
