Thanks to modern calcium plate technology and the sealed double lid, this battery is completely maintenance-free.

What is the advantage over the YBX1012?
The YBX3012 belongs to the higher performance class (YBX3000). It offers more starts (approx. 30,000 vs. 20,000), It also offers higher capacity (50Ah vs. 45Ah) and features the safer, sealed tilt-and-lock double lid (SMF), which the 1000 series does not have.
Will this battery be suitable if I previously had a 36Ah or 44Ah battery?
Yes. The dimensions (207x175x175mm) are identical to those of most older 36Ah, 40Ah or 44Ah batteries (Type L1). The YBX3012 is a technical upgrade and offers greater reserve capacity, which is particularly beneficial in winter or when driving short distances.
Do I need to open the caps to charge it?
No. The YBX3012 is a ‘sealed, maintenance-free’ battery. It does not have screw-on plugs. The casing is sealed and must not be opened. Degassing takes place centrally via openings on the sides.
Is the battery suitable for start-stop vehicles?
No. Despite its high quality, the YBX3012 is a wet battery. Vehicles with a start-stop system must use an EFB battery (e.g. Yuasa YBX7012), as these have significantly higher cycle stability.
