Is this battery suitable for start-stop vehicles?

No. The YBX1096 is a conventional lead-acid battery. Vehicles with start-stop systems require AGM or EFB batteries, because the load on a standard battery from the constant switching on and off of the engine is too high.

Will the battery fit my car if the old one was 72Ah or 74Ah?

Yes, usually. Capacities such as 70Ah, 72Ah, or 74Ah are often used in the same case size (L3: 278mm length). The key factor is the dimensions. If your old battery was approx. 27.8 cm long, the YBX1096 is the suitable replacement, even if the Ah rating is slightly different.

What is the difference to the YBX3096 or YBX5096?

These are the higher quality levels from Yuasa.

• YBX1096: Basic model (approx. 20,000 starts).
• YBX3096: Standard model with higher starting power (approx. 30,000 starts).
• YBX5096: Premium model with maximum performance and warranty (approx. 50,000 starts). For older vehicles or for normal use, the YBX1096 is usually perfectly adequate.

Do I need to charge the battery before installation?

The battery is supplied ready to start. However, as lead-acid batteries lose charge during storage, a full charge with a charger before installation is always the best way to maximise service life from day one.
