ULTURB1270
Ultralife LiFePO4 lithium battery URB1270 12V 7.6Ah (SLA replacement)

The ULTRALIFE URB1270 is a state-of-the-art lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO4) designed specifically as a more powerful drop-in replacement for conventional 12V 7Ah or 7.2Ah lead-acid batteries (SLA). It utilises the standard housing of common lead-acid batteries, but thanks to lithium technology, offers a drastic reduction in weight, a constant voltage level, and up to 10 times longer cycle life. An integrated battery management system (BMS) provides maximum safety and automatically protects the cells.Highlights at a glance1:1 lead-gel replacement: Fits exactly into the holders and housing dimensions of common 12V 7Ah/7.2Ah lead-acid batteries (such as Yuasa NP7-12).Extreme cycle stability: Offers over 2000 charge cycles at 100% depth of discharge (for comparison: lead-acid batteries often achieve only 300-500 cycles).Ultralight: Weighs only approx. 1.06 kg, less than half the weight of a comparable lead-acid battery (approx. 2.5 kg), ideal for portable devices.Integrated BMS: The built-in Battery Management System monitors every cell and protects against overcharging, deep discharge, and short circuit.Safe chemistry: Lithium iron phosphate technology (LiFePO4) is considered the safest lithium variant, is thermally stable and non-combustible.Constant performance: Maintains a voltage of approx. 12.8 V almost constant up to nearly complete discharge, while lead-acid batteries lose voltage continuously.Ideal for medical technology & roboticsThe URB1270 is the perfect choice for applications where weight and lifespan are critical factors. It is commonly used in medical trolleys, mobile measuring devices, robots, electric scooters (scooters) or high-quality children's toys. As it has no memory effect and does not sulphate even when partially discharged (unlike lead-acid batteries), it requires much less maintenance and is significantly more reliable in long-term use. Features ModelULTRALIFE URB1270 (LiFePO4 SLA replacement) ApplicationUPS, medical technology, industry, robots (1:1 lead-acid replacement) TechnologyLithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) with integrated BMS Voltage12.8 V (Nominal) - operating range 10V - 14.4V Capacity7.6 Ah (Comparable to 7-9 Ah lead-acid) / 97 Wh Max. discharge currentapprox. 10 A (continous) / integrated BMS protection Dimensions (L x W x H in mm)151 x 65 x 93 (standard size as 12V 7.2Ah) Terminal arrangementStandard (Suitable for standard connection cables) TerminalFaston 6.3mm (F2) - flat connector Base railN (Flat base) Special features>2000 cycles, very light, BMS (protection against over-/undervoltage) Weight (kg)approx. 1.0 (vs. 2.5 kg for lead-acid)  FAQs about the Ultralife URB1270Can I continue to use my lead-acid charger? This is the most important question when switching to lithium. In principle yes, but: The URB1270 is designed to be compatible with many standard lead-acid chargers (AGM/Gel) as long as the charge cutoff voltage is between 13.6 V and 14.8 V and no desulfation function (high voltage pulses) is active. For optimum performance and service life, however, we strongly recommend a dedicated LiFePO4 charger (CCCV characteristic). Can I connect the battery in series (24V)?According to the Ultralife data sheet, the URB1270 is often approved for a series connection (up to 2 batteries = 24V) or parallel connection. Please be sure to check the current data sheet for your specific production batch, as BMS specifications may vary. Both batteries must be fully charged before connecting them together. Is the higher price worth it compared to lead?If you use the battery cyclically (charge/discharge daily), then yes. A lead-acid battery often has to be replaced every 1-2 years. The Ultralife lithium battery often lasts 5-8 years or longer with the same use. Over its lifetime, it is therefore often more cost-effective, and you save a lot of weight as well.
