This intelligent universal charger is the "all-in-one" solution for your fleet. Instead of using a separate charger for each HBC battery type (3.6V or 6V, small or large), this device automatically detects the inserted battery type and adjusts the charging current and voltage accordingly.
It replaces the original HBC chargers (e.g. QE10860, QA10860, IL series) and is suitable for both older NiCd batteries as well as for modern NiMH batteries as well.
Highlights at a Glance
- Multi-voltage (3.6V & 6V): The charger automatically detects whether you have inserted a 3.6V battery (e.g. FuB 05AA) or a 6V battery (e.g. FuB 3A). No manual switches required.
- Multi-chemistry (NiCd & NiMH): You can charge mixed stocks. Whether old red/black NiCd battery or new orange NiMH battery – the charging electronics (Delta-U shut-off) safely controls the process and prevents overcharging.

- Car adapter for the cigarette lighter (12V/24V) – ideal for charging in lorries, construction cranes or service vehicles.

- Custom-fit charging cradle: The charging holder is shaped so that the standard HBC battery blocks (FuB 3A, FuB 05AA, FuB 9AA, FuB 10AA) make secure contact.

FAQs about the Universal Crane Charger
How long does it take to charge a 2000 mAh battery?
That depends on the charging current. With a typical charging current of approx. 800–1000mA, charging a fully empty 2000 mAh battery takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. Once the battery is full, the device switches to “trickle charge” (Green). So you can also leave the battery in it overnight.
Can I use this to charge batteries from other manufacturers?
No. The charging cradle is mechanically specific for the contacts and case shapes of HBC Radiomatic. Batteries from Hetronic, Autec or Scanreco do not fit mechanically.
My battery gets warm when charging. Is that normal?
Yes. Especially towards the end of charging, NiMH batteries become warm to the touch. The intelligent charger detects this temperature rise (or the voltage drop) and then switches off. If the battery does become hot, the battery is probably defective (internal resistance too high).
