What is the difference compared to the "normal" ER14505 (Bobbin)?

The difference is huge in terms of power output.

• Bobbin type (e.g. Saft LS14500): Often has more capacity (approx. 2.6 Ah), but can only deliver very little current (a few mA). Ideal for memory retention.
• Spiral type (UHR-ER14505-H): Has slightly less capacity (approx. 2.0 Ah), but can deliver 20 times the current. If your device uses GSM, LTE or Wi-Fi, you absolutely need the spiral version (UHR), because the bobbin cell would collapse during data transmission.

Can I use this battery instead of a normal AA battery?

Absolutely not! A normal AA battery (alkaline) has 1.5 volts. This lithium battery has 3.6 volts. If you put this battery in a remote control, a clock or an ordinary toy, the electronics will be destroyed immediately due to the overvoltage. Use it only in devices that are explicitly designed for "3.6V Lithium AA".

Is the battery rechargeable?

No. It is a primary battery (single use). Never recharge it (risk of explosion). For rechargeable lithium batteries in AA size you need to look for "Li-Ion 14500" (3.7V), but this is a different technology.

Do I need a safety margin when soldering?

If you buy the version with solder tags: never solder directly to the battery can, only to the tags and as quickly as possible (max. 5 seconds). Excessive heat can damage the internal seals or separator and cause leakage.
