The Ultralife UHE-ER34615-H is a size D (mono) primary lithium battery optimised for maximum capacity. It belongs to the "High Energy" series (UHE) and uses the proven Bobbin technology (coil body construction). In contrast to the UHR series (spiral), which is built for high currents, the focus here is on an extremely high energy density. With an incredible 19 Ah capacity, it is a "long-distance runner", developed for applications that need to be supplied with low currents for 10 years or longer.

What is the difference to the UHR-ER34615 (Spiral)?

This is the most important difference for your application!

• UHE (your battery): "High Energy" (Bobbin). Maximum capacity (19 Ah), but low current (max. 200 mA). Like a marathon runner.
• UHR (Spiral): "High Rate" (Spiral). Less capacity (14.5 Ah), but plenty of current (2000 mA). Like a sprinter. Do not use the UHE not for motors, pumps or GSM modules with frequent transmission – the voltage would drop (passivation effect).

Why does the voltage drop at the beginning?

Lithium thionyl chloride batteries (especially bobbin types like this) form a protective layer on the anode (passivation) during storage. This prevents self-discharge, but temporarily increases internal resistance. On first use, the voltage may briefly drop until the layer is "broken through" by the current flow.

Can I use this battery instead of a normal mono battery (type D)?

No, definitely not! Normal mono batteries (alkaline) have 1.5 volts. This industrial battery has 3.6 volts. If you insert this battery into a torch, radio or toy, the electronics will be instantly destroyed by the more than double voltage.

Is the battery rechargeable?

No. This is a non-rechargeable primary battery. Never charge it, never throw it into a fire, and do not open it by force. Please dispose of it only via official collection points for lithium batteries.
