  • High nominal voltage: Stable voltage level of 3.6 V over almost the entire lifetime.
  • Maximum reliability: Extremely low self-discharge rate of less than 1% per year.
  • Outstanding durability: Designed for an operating and storage life of more than 10 years.
  • Extreme temperature range: Fully functional within a temperature range from -55 °C to +85 °C.

Powerful in diverse applications

The Tadiran SL-760S is the perfect choice to replace conventional batteries in devices where frequent battery changes are undesirable or costly. It is excellently suited for professional original equipment in metering technology (water, gas, electricity), for memory backup (RTC, CMOS) in computers and controllers, as well as in alarm systems, security systems and industrial sensors that use AA battery holders.

Designed for maximum safety and efficiency

The safety and durability of the SL-760S are based on its carefully thought-out construction. The cell features a hermetic glass-metal seal which reliably prevents the electrolyte from leaking. The inorganic electrolyte used is non-flammable and provides a high degree of intrinsic safety. Every cell is designed to deliver its energy constantly and safely over a very long period, which minimises maintenance costs and lowers the overall operating costs of your application.

Superior lithium thionyl chloride technology

Lithium thionyl chloride technology (Li-SOCl₂) offers decisive advantages for long-term applications. A characteristic feature is the passivation effect: a thin protective layer forms on the lithium anode, significantly reducing self-discharge and thus enabling extremely long shelf life. This technology ensures that energy is still almost completely available even after years of storage, setting the SL-760S apart from all other battery technologies.

FAQs about this Tadiran battery

Is this battery rechargeable?

No, this is a primary lithium battery and must not be recharged under any circumstances. Attempting to charge the cell is dangerous and can result in overheating, leakage or bursting of the cell.

Does this model have solder terminals or wires?

No, the model SL-760S is the standard version with normal battery contacts and is intended for use in a suitable AA battery holder. For direct installation on circuit boards, Tadiran offers variants of this cell type with different solder connections (e.g. solder tags or axial wires).

What does the passivation effect mean for this battery?

After prolonged storage, a protective layer forms on the lithium surface that minimises self-discharge. On first use, this layer can cause a brief voltage delay. For applications that require immediate high current pulses, corresponding circuit designs or special battery types should be considered.

For which devices is this battery type suitable?

This battery type is designed exclusively for professional and industrial electronics. These include, among others, meters, memory backup, security technology, medical devices and sophisticated tracking systems that use AA batteries.

How long is the battery shelf life and how should it be stored?

The battery has a shelf life of more than 10 years. For maximum shelf life, we recommend storage in a cool and dry place with low humidity.

The axial wires allow a secure and vibration-resistant integration without a battery holder. Its primary applications include compact wireless sensors, miniaturised GPS trackers, medical monitoring devices and other professional electronics that require regular transmission pulses in a confined space.Designed for maximum safety and efficiencyThe safety and longevity of the SL-350P are based on the proven Tadiran design. The cell features a hermetic glass-to-metal seal that reliably prevents electrolyte leakage. The inorganic electrolyte used is non-flammable and ensures a high degree of intrinsic safety. Each cell is designed to deliver its energy consistently and safely over a very long period of time, reducing maintenance costs and lowering the total operating costs of your application.iXtra Series: The technology for higher performanceThe iXtra Series from Tadiran is designed to offer improved voltage stability under load. Compared to the standard series (SL-700), optimised for minimal continuous currents, the SL-300 Series shows better behaviour for medium load demands and pulse currents. The passivation effect is overcome faster, resulting in a more stable power supply in applications that regularly "wake up" to perform tasks.Characteristics  ModelTadiran SL-350/P TechnologyLithium thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl₂) Size1/2 AA Nominal voltage (V)3.6 Capacity (mAh)1200 Max. continuous discharge current60 mA Self-dischargeapprox. 1% per year Operating temperature (°C)-55 ~ +85 Dimensions (Ø x L, mm)approx. 14.7 x 25.2 Weight (g)approx. 9 ConnectionAxial wires (P) RechargeableNo  FAQs about this Tadiran batteryWhat does the "axial wire" connection mean? This model is equipped with connection wires that emerge centrally from the positive and negative terminals of the cell and run in opposite directions along the longitudinal axis. This configuration allows very flexible assembly and a direct, firm connection to the electronics by soldering, without the need for a battery holder. What is the difference between the SL-300 (iXtra) and the SL-700 series? The SL-300 (iXtra) series, to which this cell belongs, is optimised for applications with moderate current requirements (e.g. wireless sensors). It offers more stable voltage under load. The SL-700 series, on the other hand, is designed for absolute long-term use with minimal continuous current, such as pure memory backup applications. For which applications is this battery type suitable? This battery type is ideal for miniaturised electronics that require a long service life and where the cell is firmly soldered. Examples include compact wireless sensors, small medical devices and GPS trackers. Is this battery rechargeable? No, this is a primary lithium battery and under no circumstances may it be recharged. Attempting to charge the cell is dangerous and may lead to overheating, leakage or bursting of the cell. What does the passivation effect mean with this battery? After prolonged storage, a protective layer forms on the lithium surface, minimising self-discharge. The iXtra Series is designed so that this layer is broken down more quickly and with less voltage drop under load than in the SL-700 Series, which is beneficial for applications with regular current pulses.
