The Tadiran SL-2790S is a revolutionary PulsesPlus hybrid battery in the large case size DD. It was developed for the most demanding long-term applications that require both extremely high energy reserve and the ability to deliver high current pulses. The system combines a long-life lithium thionyl chloride primary cell with a unique hybrid layer capacitor (HLC). With an enormous capacity of 32 Ah, it is the first choice for devices that have to operate completely autonomously for many years.

The high-energy Li-SOCl₂ primary cell with 32 Ah serves as long-term energy storage and continuously charges the hybrid layer capacitor (HLC) connected in parallel. If the application requires a high current pulse, this is delivered directly by the HLC, not by the primary cell. This intelligent system protects the primary cell from high loads, prevents the typical voltage drop due to passivation and so ensures a stable voltage and maximum service life.
