The Petzl NAO RL is an ergonomic, ultra-light and extremely powerful rechargeable headlamp, specially designed for the most demanding activities such as trail running, mountaineering or ski touring. Intelligent lighting with REACTIVE LIGHTING®

The NAO RL turns night into day without you having to lift a finger. In REACTIVE LIGHTING® mode, a sensor constantly analyses the ambient light. If you look into the distance, the lamp increases the light intensity; if you look at your hands or the floor, it dims down automatically. This prevents glare, minimises manual intervention and significantly extends the battery life so that you can concentrate fully on your activity.

Enduring and versatile

Despite its enormous power, the NAO RL is designed for endurance. In STANDARD mode (550 lumens), it offers a guaranteed light duration of at least 5 hours, perfect for long runs or tours. In addition to the reactive mode, you can also select one of three constant white light modes (MAX BURN TIME, STANDARD, MAX POWER). The red rear light on the battery can be switched separately and increases your safety in an urban environment or in a team.

Sophisticated design for maximum performance

Every detail of the NAO RL is designed for ergonomics and performance. The energy pack sits at the back of the head and ensures a wobble-free, balanced fit. The R1 rechargeable battery is not only the lamp's power source, but can also be used as a power bank to charge other devices (e.g. smartphone or watch) thanks to the USB-C connection. A 5-stage LED display on the battery informs you precisely about the remaining charge level at all times.

What is the main advantage of REACTIVE LIGHTING® technology?

The main advantage is comfort and extended battery life. The lamp automatically adjusts the brightness to your needs (bright in the distance, dimmed at close range). This means you don't have to constantly switch the lamp manually and the battery is conserved as it never consumes more energy than necessary.

Can I use the lamp without the reactive mode?

Yes. By pressing and holding the switch, you can simply switch to STANDARD LIGHTING mode and manually select between the three constant brightness levels (Max Power, Standard, Max Burn Time).

Can I use the lamp's battery as a power bank?

Yes, the supplied R1 battery (3200 mAh) has a USB-C connection, which can not only be used to charge it, but also to supply power to other devices such as smartphones or watches.

Is the lamp completely waterproof?

The lamp is IPX4 certified, which means that it is "weatherproof". It is protected against heavy water spray from all directions and can be used in heavy rain without any problems. However, it is not suitable for submersion in water (diving).
