What does "unprotected" industrial cell mean?

"Unprotected" means that the individual cell does not have an integrated electronic protection circuit (PCB/BMS) to protect it against deep discharge, overcharge or short circuit. It is intended exclusively for installation in battery packs where external protection electronics (BMS) take over these safety functions for the entire pack. Direct operation as a single cell is not safe and is not intended.

What is the difference between this NCR18650GA and the NCR18650B?

Both cells offer a very high capacity. The decisive advantage of the NCR18650GA however is its significantly higher continuous current load capacity of 10 amperes compared to the NCR18650B (approx. 4.8 A). The GA type is therefore the better choice for high-performance applications such as e-bikes or power tools, while the B type is optimised for maximum run time under lower loads.

Who is this battery suitable for?

This cell is aimed exclusively at specialist personnel and commercial customers who are experienced in the processing and assembly of Li-Ion batteries and capable of implementing the necessary protective measures (BMS/PCM). It is not a battery intended for direct use by end consumers.

How should this battery be disposed of?

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As an industrial end-of-life battery, it is subject to the provisions of the Battery Act. Please take the used battery to the designated industrial or municipal collection points (e.g. GRS Batterien) to ensure proper and environmentally friendly recycling.
