Low-Voltage PV Storage Kit: Deye SUN-8kW 3-phase hybrid inverter, 2x Deye SE-F5C Pro 10.24 kWh
Product information
The tailored all-in-one package for self-consumption and emergency power
This low-voltage storage kit from Deye combines the three-phase hybrid inverter SUN-8K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 with two SE-F5 Pro lithium iron phosphate battery modules to provide a total storage capacity of 10.24 kWh. The inverter and battery are from the same manufacturer and communicate directly with each other via CAN or RS485, which significantly simplifies installation and commissioning. The result is a system that stores your solar power, increases your self-consumption and continues to supply you with electricity in the event of a power cut.
Deye SUN-8K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2: Powerful and flexible
The hybrid inverter delivers 8 kW rated power (max. 8.8 kVA) in three-phase mode and is designed for connection to large PV generators: up to 16 kW of PV power can be connected; the maximum DC input power is 12 kW. Two MPP trackers, each with an input current of 20 A and a wide voltage range from 200 to 650 V, ensure maximum yield even from roofs with varying orientations, such as east/west. With an efficiency of up to 97.6 % and an MPPT efficiency of over 99 %, virtually no energy is lost.
For the battery, up to 190 A of charging and discharging current are available. In the event of a power cut, the inverter continues to supply your home in off-grid mode, briefly providing double the rated power for 10 seconds – enough to cover the start-up currents of pumps or compressors. The 100 % asymmetrical output allows up to 50 % of the rated power per phase, which is a real advantage in everyday use where loads are unevenly distributed.
Furthermore, the inverter offers AC coupling for retrofitting existing PV systems, the integration of a diesel generator, six freely configurable time slots for charging and discharging (ideal for dynamic electricity tariffs), and the parallel connection of up to 10 units in both on-grid and off-grid operation. The IP65-rated housing allows for an operating temperature range of -40 to +60 °C, and at under 55 dB(A), the unit operates pleasantly quietly. The grid connection complies with VDE-AR-N 4105.
Deye SE-F5 Pro: Safe LiFePO4 battery with display
The SE-F5 Pro modules utilise durable and thermally stable lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells. Each module provides 5.12 kWh at 51.2 V and 100 Ah. The C version features a display showing the battery status in real time. The advanced BMS with active fuse and the integrated circuit breaker ensure comprehensive protection.
With at least 6,000 cycles, a guaranteed energy throughput of 16 MWh and a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty is designed for long-term, cost-effective operation. Each module supports a continuous current of 100 A (1C) and a peak current of 150 A for 120 seconds, meaning that two modules can easily handle the inverter’s full battery current. The storage system can be expanded to up to 32 modules in parallel (or even 64 with a CAN box) and can be mounted on the wall, on the floor or stacked. Using the optional Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module and the Deye app, you can monitor the battery locally or remotely, together with the inverter.
Your benefits at a glance
You receive a fully integrated, complete system from a single source, offering 8 kW of three-phase power, up to 16 kW of PV connection capacity and 10.24 kWh of storage capacity. The emergency power capability provides protection in the event of a grid failure, the LiFePO4 technology with a 10-year warranty ensures longevity, and both the battery and the inverter can be flexibly expanded. The 48 V low-voltage technology also offers greater safety during installation and maintenance than high-voltage systems.

FAQs on the Deye Low-Voltage PV Storage Kit: 8 kW inverter with 10.24 kWh storage
Which households is this kit suitable for?
The kit is ideal for detached houses with a three-phase grid connection and medium to high electricity consumption. With an 8 kW inverter output and 10.24 kWh of storage, a large proportion of evening and night-time consumption can be covered by your own solar power. For households with a heat pump or electric car, the storage capacity can easily be expanded at a later date.
How much PV capacity can I connect to the inverter?
The SUN-8K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 supports a PV connected load of up to 16 kWp; the maximum DC input power is 12 kW. The modules are distributed across two MPP trackers, each with one string, with an input current of up to 20 A and an MPPT voltage range of 200 to 650 V. The maximum DC input voltage of 800 V must not be exceeded, even at low temperatures; for this reason, string planning should be carried out by a specialist contractor.
How much storage capacity is actually available?
The total capacity is 10.24 kWh (2 × 5.12 kWh). Deye recommends a depth of discharge of 90 %, which provides around 9.2 kWh of usable energy for everyday use. This reserve protects the cells and extends their service life.
Does the system still work during a power cut?
Yes. In the event of a mains power cut, the hybrid inverter can continue to operate in off-grid mode and supply your home with power from the battery and PV system, in three-phase mode. For a short period, it can even provide double the rated power for 10 seconds, for example to cover the start-up currents of pumps or compressors. This requires the emergency power consumers to be wired appropriately during installation.
Can I expand the storage capacity later?
Yes. The SE-F5 Pro modules can be expanded in parallel to up to 32 units, and with a CAN box even up to 64. The inverter can also be operated in parallel with up to 10 devices. Please note when expanding the system that the inverter charges and discharges at a maximum of 190 A; additional modules primarily increase the capacity, not the power output, of a single inverter.
Can I install the batteries outdoors or in the garage?
The inverter has an IP65 protection rating and is suitable for outdoor installation. The battery modules, on the other hand, have an IP21 protection rating and must be housed in a dry indoor space, such as a cellar or utility room. Please also note that the batteries can only be charged at temperatures between 0 and 55 °C; charging is therefore restricted in unheated rooms where frost is a risk.
How long do the batteries last?
Deye It specifies a cycle life of at least 6,000 cycles (at 25 °C down to 70 % of residual capacity). Assuming one full cycle per day, this equates to over 16 years. In addition, Deye offers a 10-year warranty or 16 MWh of energy output per module; the manufacturer’s warranty conditions apply.
Can I retrofit an existing PV system?
Yes. The inverter supports AC coupling, meaning that an existing PV system with its own inverter can be integrated. This also allows an older system – for example, once EEG subsidies have ended – to be supplemented with a storage unit.
Can I connect a generator?
Yes, the inverter supports the integration of a diesel generator, for example for off-grid applications or as an additional safeguard during prolonged power cuts.
How do I monitor my system?
Using an optional data logger module (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G, GPRS or LAN), the system can be monitored via the ‘ Deye ’ app. The batteries can also be read locally via Bluetooth, without the need for an internet connection. In the app, you can view generation, consumption, grid consumption, feed-in and state of charge in real time.
