Fenix LD30R LED torch 1700 lumen with USB-C
Description
Product information
The Fenix LD30R is the logical next step in the evolution of the proven LD30 and redefines the standard for compact EDC (Every Day Carry) torches. With an impressive output of up to 1700 lumens and a beam range of 267 metres, it delivers floodlight performance in a pocket-sized format. The main upgrade over its predecessor is the integrated USB-C charging port, which allows the included high-performance battery to be charged directly in the lamp. This lamp is the ideal companion for professional users, outdoor enthusiasts and everyday use.
Highlights at a glance
- Enormous brightness: Delivers up to 1700 lumens of brightness and a beam range of 267 metres.
- Hidden charging port: USB-C port safely protected under a rotating cover on the lamp head.
- Dual switch concept: Tactical tail switch for momentary light and side switch for brightness selection.
- Compact powerhouse: Extremely handy form factor with maximum output, ideal for the trouser pocket.
- High flexibility: Can be operated with the included 18650 Li-Ion battery or two CR123A batteries.
Comfortable charging and intuitive controls
The LD30R features an innovative USB-C charging port concealed beneath a rotating cover on the lamp head (hidden-port design). This effectively protects the port from dirt and moisture while maintaining the lamp's aesthetics. The proven two-switch control concept enables precise operation: the tactical tail switch at the rear is for on/off and momentary light, while the side switch conveniently cycles through the five brightness levels and the special functions (strobe/SOS).
Maximum output and robustness
Despite its compact size, the LD30R delivers brightness usually only found in larger lamps. The intelligent overheating protection system (IOP) automatically regulates the output as needed to keep surface temperature low (from 60°C). The housing is made of high-strength A6061-T6 aluminium with hard-anodised finish, IP68 certified—fully dustproof and waterproof to 2 metres depth.
Always informed
An LED in the side switch briefly shows battery status (Green/Red/Flashing) when switching on, so you're always up to date on remaining reserve power. The included ARB-L18-3400 battery provides long runtimes, and the practical “two-way clip” allows flexible attachment to gear or clothing.

FAQs about the Fenix LD30R
What is the difference compared to the regular Fenix LD30?
The main difference is charging capability. The LD30R (R = Rechargeable) has an integrated USB-C charging port directly on the lamp. With the older LD30, the battery had to be removed for charging or a battery with its own USB port was used. In addition, the maximum output has been slightly increased to 1700 lumens.
Where is the charging port?
The USB-C port is cleverly hidden under the neck of the lamp. You need to loosen (unscrew) the lamp head slightly to expose the port. After charging, screw it back on to maintain waterproofness.
Can I operate the torch with batteries?
Yes, in an emergency or as a backup you can use two CR123A lithium batteries in the lamp. Please note, however, these batteries must not be recharged in the lamp and that the maximum turbo brightness may not be achievable with these batteries.
Does the lamp feature a memory function?
Yes, the intelligent memory function remembers the last-used brightness setting (except strobe and SOS) and recalls it upon next switching on via the tail switch.
