Product information

The Energizer Ultimate Lithium L92 (size AAA / Micro) is considered the world's longest-lasting AA battery in high-tech devices. It was developed to far outshine conventional alkaline batteries in power-intensive applications. Thanks to advanced lithium iron sulphide chemistry (LiFeS2), it not only offers up to 11 times longer runtimes in digital cameras, but also works in extreme weather conditions where normal batteries would fail. The 4-pack blister is the ideal stock size for photographers, outdoor enthusiasts and smart home owners.

Highlights at a glance

  • The world's longest-lasting AAA battery: Provides maximum performance for energy-hungry high-tech devices and lasts up to 11x longer in digital cameras than standard alkaline batteries.
  • 20 years shelf life: The battery hardly loses any energy during storage and is guaranteed ready for use for 20 years – perfect as an emergency supply.
  • Extreme temperature range: Works reliably from freezing -40 °C up to hot +60 °C, making it the first choice for outdoor sensors in winter.
  • Ultra-lightweight design: Weighs around 33% less than a comparable alkaline battery, which significantly reduces the carrying weight for portable devices (headlamps, GPS).
  • Leakproof: The construction is designed to prevent leakage and therefore damage to expensive electronics.
  • 1.5 Volt system: Is a direct "drop-in" replacement for any standard 1.5V AAA alkaline battery, but with the superior power of lithium.

Perfect for smart home & outdoor

The Energizer L92 is the insider tip for all smart home devices outdoors. It is ideal for Netatmo weather stations (outdoor modules), Blink outdoor cameras or electronic door locks (Nuki, Danalock), which are exposed to cold in winter. Normal batteries break down at sub-zero temperatures – the Energizer Lithium keeps running. Also for gaming controllers, handheld GPS (Garmin) and LED torches it's the best choice for maximum runtime.

FAQs about Energizer Ultimate Lithium L92

Can I recharge this battery?

Absolutely not! This is the most important safety notice. The Energizer Ultimate Lithium is a primary battery (single use). If you try to charge this in a charger, it can explode or catch fire. For rechargeable batteries, please use NiMH batteries (e.g. Energizer Recharge).

Why does the battery initially have over 1.7 volts?

When you measure a brand new L92, the multimeter often shows 1.7 to 1.8 volts (open circuit voltage). This is normal and is absolutely harmless for 99% of all 1.5V devices. Under load, the voltage quickly settles at a very stable level of approx. 1.5 volts, which it then holds much longer than an alkaline battery (which quickly drops to 1.2 V).

Can I mix lithium and alkaline batteries?

No. Never mix old and new batteries and never mix different chemistries (alkaline with lithium) in one device. The more powerful lithium battery would "overrun" the weaker alkaline battery, which may result in overheating, leakage or defects. Always replace the complete set.

Is the high price worth it for a TV remote?

Honestly: No. For devices with extremely low power consumption (such as a TV remote control or a simple wall clock), a standard alkaline battery is more economical. The advantages of lithium technology (high current capacity, cold resistance) do not play a role there. Use the L92 for devices that require significant power or are located outdoors.
