Deye SE-F5 Pro-C – Advanced LiFePO4 storage – 51.2V / 5.12 kWh
Product information
The Deye SE-F5 Pro-C is a state-of-the-art 5.12 kWh battery storage module based on safe lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) technology. As part of the "Pro" series, this 51.2V low-voltage battery has been specially developed for seamless integration with Deye hybrid inverters and other common 48V systems.
The storage unit is characterised by its high energy density, the cobalt-free chemistry and the intelligent battery management system (BMS). The SE-F5 Pro-C is the ideal solution for residential and commercial applications requiring reliable optimisation of self-consumption (solar) or a robust emergency power supply. Thanks to its modular design, the capacity can be flexibly expanded from 5 kWh up to the high double-digit kWh range.
Highlights at a glance
- Safest cell chemistry (LiFePO4): Uses lithium iron phosphate, which is extremely thermally stable, does not burn and is considered the safest lithium technology on the market.
- High capacity (5.12 kWh): Provides 100 Ah at a nominal voltage of 51.2 V in a compact housing, ideal for long operating times.
- Long service life (6000+ cycles): Designed for over 6000 charge/discharge cycles (at 25°C, 90% DOD), which corresponds to a service life of well over 10-15 years.
- Intelligent BMS: The integrated battery management system protects against overcharging, deep discharge, overcurrent and overtemperature, and ensures active cell balancing.
- Environmentally friendly (cobalt-free): The battery contains absolutely no toxic cobalt, which minimises the environmental impact during both manufacture and disposal.
- Flexible scalability: Supports the parallel connection of up to 32 units (up to 64 in some cases, depending on the module) to achieve storage capacities of over 160 kWh.
- Easy installation: Thanks to its standard 19-inch dimensions, the module is perfectly suited for rack systems or wall mounting (with suitable brackets).
- Deye compatibility: Perfectly matched to Deye hybrid inverters (automatic detection via CAN bus), but also compatible with Victron, Growatt, SMA etc. (depending on protocol).
Areas of application
The Deye SE-F5 Pro-C is highly versatile:
- Optimisation of self-consumption: Storage of surplus PV electricity for use at night.
- Emergency power systems (backup): A reliable power source in the event of a power cut.
- Peak Shaving: Peak load shedding in commercial premises.
- Off-grid systems: Stand-alone systems without a grid connection.
Technology & Benefits
The SE-F5 Pro-C stands out thanks to the following technical features:
- LFP technology: Unlike NMC batteries, LiFePO4 does not tend to experience "thermal runaway" if damaged. This makes installation in the home particularly safe.
- Smart communication: The BMS actively communicates with the inverter. It reports state of charge (SOC), state of health (SOH) and temperature in real time, enabling the inverter to dynamically adjust the charging curve.
- Soft start: Integrated pre-charge resistors prevent high inrush currents that could trip fuses when the battery is switched on.
Installation & operating instructions
- Cabling: Standard battery cables (often 25mm² or 35mm²) with Amphenol or M-type screw terminals (check depending on model!) are required for connection to the inverter. The communication cable (RJ45, CAN bus) is essential for the warranty.
- Addressing: When connected in parallel, the batteries often need to be addressed via DIP switches (master/slave configuration), with the master handling communication with the inverter.
- Temperature: Lithium batteries should not be charged at temperatures below 0°C. The BMS stops charging in frosty conditions to protect the cells. Ideal operating range: 15°C to 30°C.

FAQs on the Deye SE-F5 Pro-C
Does this battery also work with other inverters?
Yes. Deye uses standard protocols (Pylontech protocol, among others). The battery is compatible with many 48V low-voltage inverters, provided the relevant protocol is selected in the BMS or inverter. However, it offers the best performance within the Deye ecosystem. It is strongly recommended that you check the compatibility list beforehand.
What is the difference compared to the SE-G5.1 Pro?
The designations (Pro, Pro-C, Pro-B) often refer to revisions in the casing design, chip availability or certifications (e.g. UL certificates for specific markets). The core technical specifications (5.12 kWh, LFP) are usually identical. The "C" version is often the current variant, optimised for the European market.
Can I expand the battery later?
Yes, no problem. You can connect additional modules in parallel at any time to increase capacity. The BMS compensates for differences in charge between new and old modules to a certain extent. However, it is recommended to combine modules with a similar state of ageing or to perform a one-off full balancing of the system.
