Why is LiFePO4 used as the cell chemistry?

Does the system have integrated heating for winter operation?

What is the maximum discharge power of the 16.36 kWh system?

System composition

  • This product is a set and consists of five separate main components, which together make up a 16.36 kWh high-voltage tower system.

Component 1: Deye GBL-PRO BMS (high-voltage control unit & base)

  • The central control unit (BMS) managing the entire high-voltage system. This unit forms the base of the battery tower.

Components 2, 3, 4 & 5: Four Deye GB-L-PRO-BATT high-voltage battery modules (each 4.09 kWh)

  • Four high-voltage battery modules, each 4.09 kWh, to be stacked onto the BMS unit and with each other.

1 x set of battery connection cables (plus & minus)

  • A pair of special high-voltage power cables to connect the BMS unit to a compatible high-voltage hybrid inverter.

1 x communication cable (CAN/RS485)

  • A data cable for communication between the BMS and the inverter.

3 x connection bridge / series connection cable

  • Short, robust cables or fixed bridges to connect the four battery modules in series.

These include VDE-AR-N 4105 for Germany, EN 50549 for the EU, CEI 0-21 for Italy, G98 and G99 for Great Britain, OVE R25 for Austria, RD 1699 and RD 14 for Spain, as well as NRS 097-2-1 for South Africa. As a rule, no additional NA protection is required as soon as the appropriate country profile has been activated.Which high-voltage batteries are compatible and how do I set up the BMS correctly?The approved storage solutions include BYD HVS and HVM, Pylontech Force H1 and H2, Dyness Tower, as well as the Deye GB-L Series. Each storage is assigned a specific setup number, which is selected in the menu “Battery → Lithium → Setup Number”. Alternatively, the same number can be set using the DIP switches on the battery. Other models follow the same procedure and are listed in the compatibility list.How much PV output can be connected without inverter clipping?According to the data sheet, up to 30 kW DC input is permitted, while the AC output is 20 kW. This gives a DC/AC ratio of 1.5. In practice, a ratio of 1.1 to 1.2 is recommended, which equates to around 22 to 24 kWp. Even with 26 to 28 kWp, only minor losses due to clipping occur on a few days according to experience.How loud is the inverter during operation?In standby operation, the inverter remains almost silent as the fans only start at temperatures above 50°C or under sustained load. In normal operation, the noise level is below 45 decibels. Under full load, a clear airflow noise can be heard, but it stays below the maximum sound pressure of 55 decibels, as specified by the manufacturer. The device is therefore well suited for basements and technical rooms.Can settings and firmware updates be carried out via app?Via the Deye Cloud or the SUN-APP, all settings can be managed remotely. This includes changes to charging and export parameters, firmware updates for inverter, BMS, and HMI as well as an emergency shutdown. However, the current firmware allows a technical residual consumption of approx. 20 W. Users report that adjustments to Modbus registers or external energy management systems such as ioBroker can indeed achieve 0 W grid consumption. For standard applications such as full feed-in or net metering, the factory setting is usually entirely sufficient.Are the charge/discharge currents sufficient for large high-voltage batteries?Yes. According to the data sheet, the inverter allows 50 A charging or discharging current in each direction, which enables up to 20 kW output at a battery voltage of 400 V. Systems such as BYD HVS/HVM, Pylontech Force H and Dyness Tower are listed as fully compatible in the official Approved Battery List. This allows even large storage blocks to be operated quickly and in sync with the BMS.How much kWp can I connect, without the inverter clipping?On the 15 kW model, up to 30 kW PV access power and 24 kW PV input power are permitted. A typical 18 kWp PV installation results in a DC/AC ratio of 1.2, which is within the recommended oversizing range of 0.8 to 1.3. Slight clipping may occur on a few summer days but has little effect on total yield and offers valuable expansion reserves.Can I install the inverter outdoors?Yes. The device is protected against dust and water jets according to IP65, operates reliably at temperatures from –40 °C to +60 °C and tolerates 100 % humidity. For outdoor installation, the manufacturer recommends a protected, well-ventilated location to ensure unrestricted air cooling (≤ 55 dB(A)) and prevent fan blockage.Can the inverter be fully controlled via app or remote access?Yes.
