The CBT VB001 is a state-of-the-art lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) storage unit, specially developed for the requirements of campers, motorhomes and boats. With a huge storage capacity of 2200 watt hours (Wh) – which equates to around 172 Ah at 12.8V – it offers maximum self-sufficiency away from shore power connections.

The highlight of this battery is the integrated Bluetooth interface. Using an app on your smartphone, you always have a complete overview of the state of charge (SoC), the voltage, the current flow and the temperature. The built-in Battery Management System (BMS) protects the valuable cells fully automatically and ensures a service life that exceeds that of conventional lead-acid batteries many times over.

Assembly & safety instructions

• Charging technology: Use a charger with a lithium curve (LiFePO4). Make sure your solar controller and charging booster are also set to lithium. Be sure to deactivate any "Recondition" or "Desulphation" programmes on old chargers, as the high voltage spikes can destroy the BMS.
• Temperature: Lithium batteries must not be charged below 0°C (the BMS usually blocks this). Discharging is possible down to approx. -20°C. Plan the installation location in the heated interior if you do winter camping.
• Installation position: LiFePO4 batteries can be installed upright or lying down (on the side) as they contain no liquid that could leak out.
• Wiring: Protect the battery directly at the positive terminal with a suitable fuse (e.g. MIDI or MEGA-fuse) suitable for your maximum consumption.

Which app do I need for Bluetooth?

These batteries usually use apps such as "Xiaoxiang BMS", "Overkill Solar" or a specific "CBT App". A QR code for download is usually found on the case cover or in the instructions.

Can I operate my inverter (1500W) on it?

Yes, to a certain extent. 1500 watts at 12V means approx. 125 amps of current flow. Check the VB001 data sheet to see if the BMS allows a continuous discharge current of at least 150A. Many 172Ah batteries can handle this without any problems, but some are limited to 100A (which equates to only around 1200W).

Can I mix this battery with an AGM?
