Betteri to Schuko connection cable (5 m) - BETTTERI5M incl. AK5S-2 plug (IP65)

Description

Product information

The 5 metre Betteri BC01 to earthing contact (Schuko) connection cable is the perfect "plug & play" solution for your balcony power station. With its medium length, it offers the ideal compromise to safely bridge the distance between inverter and household socket, without unnecessary cable reserves getting in the way.

Equipped with an extremely robust, UV and weather-resistant rubber hose cable (H07RN-F 3G1.5 mm²), this cable conducts the generated solar power into your domestic grid with minimal loss. The splash-proof Betteri connection ensures an absolutely safe, standardised and weatherproof connection directly at the micro inverter.

Highlights at a glance

  • Optimum length (5 metres): Offers the perfect compromise between range and tidiness, ideal for typical balcony or terrace installations without unnecessary cable clutter.
  • Simple plug & play: Ready-made cable for the immediate connection of your mini PV system to a standard household socket.
  • High compatibility: Perfectly fits micro inverters with Betteri BC01 connector (e.g. Hoymiles HM series, Deye, NEP, Envertech, Bosswerk).
  • Robust industrial quality: The heavy rubber hose cable is extremely mechanically resilient, oil-resistant and UV-resistant for sustained outdoor use.
  • Safe protection class (IP65/IP44): The Betteri plug on the inverter is water- and dustproof (IP65 / AK5S-2), while the Schuko plug is splash-proof (IP44).

Fields of application

The 5-metre version is the all-rounder for most private photovoltaic projects:

  • Balcony power stations: The classic distance to conduct electricity from the inverter at the balcony railing to the external socket on the house wall.
  • Terrace & garden systems: Bridges the distance safely from the installation point in the garden to the covered terrace socket.
  • Garage roofs: Ideal for conducting the electricity from the flat roof through a conduit or opening to the socket inside the garage.

Assembly & safety information

  • Strain relief: Lay the cable so that it is not taut or under mechanical tension. If necessary, fix it with cable ties to the railing to relieve the strain on the Betteri plug at the inverter.
  • Weather protection: While the Betteri plug (IP65) at the inverter is rainproof, the Schuko socket (IP44) should be protected from direct driving rain.
  • Betteri end cap: If your micro inverter has a second, unused Betteri connection for series connections, it must be sealed with a waterproof end cap.
  • Multiple sockets: Always connect the cable directly to a permanently installed wall socket, never use cable drums or multiple socket strips for balcony power stations.

FAQs about the Betteri 5m cable

Is the cable cross-section of 1.5 mm² sufficient for a balcony power station?

Yes, absolutely. For the typical 600W or 800W of a balcony power station (corresponding to approx. 2.6 to 3.5 amps), a cross-section of 1.5 mm² at 5 metres length is absolutely safe and sufficient. Voltage losses at this length are negligible.

Is the 5m cable suitable for the Hoymiles HMS series?

No. The newer HMS and HMT series from Hoymiles use the proprietary BC05 "Field Connector". This cable with Betteri BC01 plug is primarily intended for the older HM series (e.g. HM-600, HM-800) as well as for inverters from Deye, NEP, Bosswerk or Envertech.

Can the cable remain outdoors the whole year round?

Yes. Thanks to the heavy H07RN-F rubber hose cable, the cable remains durable against frost, heat, ozone and UV radiation. It does not become brittle in winter and withstands harsh weather conditions for years.
