How much energy is actually usable per module?

A single module provides 5.12 kWh of gross capacity. Of this, around 4.6 kWh is usable at a depth of discharge of 90 % (DoD), making it ideal for high-efficiency modular storage solutions.

Can I expand the system later?

Yes, up to six modules are possible per tower, which corresponds to 30.72 kWh per stack. By connecting up to six towers in parallel, the system can be scaled to a total capacity of around 184 kWh without the need for additional hardware.

With which inverters does the module work without an additional interface box?

The module is Plug-&-Play-compatible with three-phase Deye hybrid inverters from the low-voltage series. Communication takes place directly via CAN or RS485 without a separate communication box. This is included with the PDU and the base unit. Without this PDU, the storage block cannot be connected to the inverter on its own. Please contact the sales department if you have any questions.

Is active cooling necessary?

No, natural convection is sufficient to ensure reliable operation. According to the manual, the only requirement is to maintain an air gap of at least 20 cm behind the module so that heat can be dissipated unhindered.

Does the module need to be fully charged before it is used for the first time?

Yes, an initial charge to 100 % is recommended to ensure the State of Charge (SoC) is recorded correctly. If this step is omitted, this may result in inaccurate SoC values or an imprecise state-of-charge display during operation. If there is insufficient solar energy, the storage unit can also be charged via the grid. You can set up this function in the Deye inverter.
