The Deye SE-F16 is a high-capacity low-voltage energy storage system (51.2 V) designed for demanding use in residential and commercial photovoltaic systems. With an enormous rated capacity of 16 kWh (314 Ah) in just one compact housing module, this storage system significantly minimises the space required and the installation effort.

This model uses the proven and intrinsically safe lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cell chemistry. Combined with the intelligent Battery Management System (BMS) and a wide range of monitoring options (including Bluetooth), the SE-F16 offers maximum safety, scalability and longevity for the self-sufficient energy supply of your home or business.

Installation & safety instructions

  • Logistics and weight: At a weight of 109 kg, the module is extremely heavy. Installation should обязательно be carried out with suitable lifting equipment (stair climber) or by at least two to three people.
  • Choice of location: The storage system must be installed in a dry and ideally frost-free room (protection class IP21). Charging at temperatures below 0°C is automatically blocked by the BMS to protect the cells.
  • Cable cross-sections: Due to the extremely high currents (up to 230 A continuous load), the connection cables to the inverter or busbar must have a cross-section of at least 70 mm², preferably 95 mm², in order to avoid overheating and voltage losses.
  • Commissioning with parallel connection: If you connect several SE-F16 modules together, all units must be charged to exactly the same voltage level before cabling in order to prevent dangerous equalisation currents.

What is the difference between the SE-F16 and the SE-F12?

The main difference lies in the capacity and the housing height. The SE-F16 delivers 16 kWh (314 Ah) and weighs around 109 kg, while the SE-F12 11.8 kWh (230 Ah) offers and weighs approx. 84 kg. Both use the same 51.2V architecture and are designed for identical applications, but the F16 offers significantly more autonomy per installed module.

What does the "C" in the designation SE-F16-C mean?

The suffix "-C" in Deye storage systems indicates the extended model variant which, in addition to Bluetooth monitoring, is also equipped with an integrated LCD display on the front of the housing. This allows the current state of charge (SoC), cell voltages and warning messages to be read directly on the device without having to open the app.

Do I absolutely need a Deye inverter for this battery?

No, but it is strongly recommended for smooth operation. The SE-F16 is "Plug & Play" compatible with Deye low-voltage hybrid inverters (such as the SG04 series), since the BMS protocol matches natively. With third-party brands (such as Victron, SMA or Solis), communication must first be configured manually via DIP switches or software settings. It is strongly recommended to check the compatibility list, as changes may occur on the manufacturer side.
