With a gross capacity of 20.45 kWh it provides a massive energy reserve to maximise independence from the public grid and reliably supply even large households or commercial operations.

The system is supplied including the GBL-PRO BMS, which, as an intelligent control unit, monitors the entire tower. Thanks to the advanced lithium iron phosphate technology (LiFePO4), the system guarantees maximum safety with a long service life. The simple stack assembly enables quick installation without complex cable connections between the modules.

Can I expand the system with additional modules later?

Yes.

Which inverters is the system compatible with?

Why is LiFePO4 used as a cell chemistry?

Because of its superior safety.

  • In contrast to conventional lithium-ion batteries (NMC), LiFePO4 is much more chemically stable. Even in the event of mechanical damage, these cells are not prone to ignition.

Does the system have integrated heating for winter operation?

Yes, optional.

  • The Deye GB-L-PRO20 system supports an integrated heating function that allows the battery cells to be charged safely even at low ambient temperatures. This effectively protects the cells when installed in unheated rooms.

What is the maximum discharge power of the 20.45 kWh system?

  • This product is a set and consists of six separate main components, which together form a 20.45 kWh high-voltage tower system.

Component 1: Deye GBL-PRO BMS (high-voltage control unit & base)

  • The central control unit (BMS) that manages the entire high-voltage system. This unit forms the base of the battery tower.

Components 2 to 6: Five Deye GB-L-PRO-BATT high-voltage battery modules (each 4.09 kWh)

  • Five high-voltage battery modules each with 4.09 kWh that are stacked on the BMS unit and on top of each other.

1 x set battery connection cables (plus & minus)

  • A pair of special high-voltage power cables for connecting the BMS unit to a compatible high-voltage hybrid inverter.

1 x communication cable (CAN/RS485)

  • A data cable for communication between the BMS and the inverter.

Additional NA protection is therefore not required.Which high-voltage storage systems are approved?Officially compatible models include BYD HVS/HVM, Pylontech Force H1/H2, Dyness Tower and the Deye GB-L series. Communication takes place via CAN or RS485, depending on the model. The appropriate setup number is entered directly in the menu “Battery → Lithium → Setup Number” or set via DIP switches. According to the provider, other storage solutions such as BOS-G are already preconfigured.How many kWp can I connect without clipping?According to the data sheet, the maximum DC input power is 65 000 W. The manufacturer even provides for up to 100 000 W PV access power, which results in a DC/AC ratio of 1.3. In practice, a generator size of 60 to 65 kWp is considered optimal. Only above this limit can low clip losses occur on a few high-load days, which remain below two per cent over the course of the year.Can I connect several 50-kW devices in parallel?Yes. Up to ten inverters can be operated in parallel, both grid-connected and off-grid. One device assumes the master function including CT sensor connection, the other units follow automatically in the network.Do I need special ventilation?Active climate technology is not required. The inverter works with intelligent air cooling and is designed for ambient temperatures up to 60 °C. The maximum noise level is 65 dB(A) under full load, in standby mode the device remains virtually silent. Good air circulation is important, for example in a ventilated technical room or in a protected outdoor location. However, the current firmware allows a technical residual consumption of approx. 20 W. Users report that adjustments to Modbus registers or external energy management systems such as ioBroker can indeed achieve 0 W grid consumption. For standard applications such as full feed-in or net metering, the factory setting is usually entirely sufficient.Are the charge/discharge currents sufficient for large high-voltage batteries?Yes. According to the data sheet, the inverter allows 50 A charging or discharging current in each direction, which enables up to 20 kW output at a battery voltage of 400 V. Systems such as BYD HVS/HVM, Pylontech Force H and Dyness Tower are listed as fully compatible in the official Approved Battery List. This allows even large storage blocks to be operated quickly and in sync with the BMS.How much kWp can I connect, without the inverter clipping?On the 15 kW model, up to 30 kW PV access power and 24 kW PV input power are permitted. A typical 18 kWp PV installation results in a DC/AC ratio of 1.2, which is within the recommended oversizing range of 0.8 to 1.3.
