Is the SUN-18K really grid-compliant without additional NA protection?

Yes, the model fulfils the requirements of VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549 and G99, as stated in the official data sheet. A separate VDE certificate confirms compliance with the German grid guidelines. This means that no external NA protection is required and the inverter is generally accepted by grid operators without additional hardware.

Which batteries are compatible with the device?

The SUN-18K is compatible with numerous 48 V LiFePO₄ storage systems (including BYD, Pylontech, Dyness, Seplos). An official list provides suitable RS485 and CAN profiles including dip switch settings.

How much kWp PV can I connect and is there room for later expansion?

The device allows up to 30 kW DC input power, which corresponds to approx. 170 % oversizing. For a typical 15 kWp system, this results in a DC/AC ratio of 0.83, optimally within the recommended range of 0.8 to 1.1. This means that the inverter is not oversized and offers enough reserve for future PV expansions without the need for replacement.

Does the inverter fit in my technical room - weight, dimensions & volume?

With 456 × 750 × 268 mm and a weight of 51.9 kg, it should be installed in pairs or with a wall frame. Thanks to intelligent air cooling, the noise level remains below 60 dB(A). The integrated IP65 protection also allows weatherproof outdoor installation.
