The Deye AI-W5.1-B is designed to grow with your energy needs. The system can be expanded in stacks up to 6 modules (30.72 kWh) and can be connected in up to 6 clusters in parallel, for a total capacity of up to 184 kWh. Can I later expand the storage to 15 or 30 kWh?
Yes, up to six modules can be combined per stack for a total capacity of 30.7 kWh per stack. By parallel connecting up to six stacks, flexible scaling to significantly higher capacities is possible.
How many cycles does the battery last?
According to the data sheet, the storage achieves over 6,000 charge cycles at 90 % depth of discharge (DoD). This makes the system suitable for long-term use with consistently high performance and reliability.
Which inverters is the 10 kWh package compatible with?
The system is officially certified for three-phase Deye hybrid inverters of the SUN-xK-HP3 and SUN-xK-BM series. The communication and operating parameters are factory aligned. "Plug-&-Play" operation is possible without further configuration.
Can I operate the storage with other inverters?
There is no official approval for other inverters by Deye. Use with third-party devices is at your own risk and without any guarantee of function.
Does the battery need to be fully charged before its first use?
Yes, the manual recommends an initial 100 % charge to ensure correct synchronisation of the state of charge (SoC). If this step is skipped, the SoC values may deviate and the capacity display may be inaccurate.

Component 1: Deye AI-W5.1-B-BMS (control unit & base)
