How far can I expand the system later?
Up to six modules can be combined per tower, resulting in 30.7 kWh storage capacity. By connecting up to six towers in parallel, an expansion to a maximum total capacity of 184 kWh is possible without additional control technology.
Which hybrid inverters is the 15 kWh package compatible with?
The storage package is officially approved for three-phase Deye hybrid inverters of the SUN-xK-HP3 and SUN-xK-BM series. The systems are fully matched; plug-&-play operation is possible directly, without manual configuration.
Do I need active cooling?
No, the system operates completely fanless with passive convection. The only important thing is a location with free air circulation, as recommended in the manual. Additional air conditioning is not required.
Does the battery need to be fully charged before first operation?
Yes, the initial charge to 100% is necessary to ensure correct SoC (State of Charge) detection. If this step is skipped, deviating capacity displays and charging behaviour may occur.
How loud is the battery in operation?
The battery works completely without active fans and is therefore practically silent. Only relays switch briefly when switching, which is briefly audible. During regular operation, the system remains silent.

System composition
- This product is a set and consists of four separate main components, which together result in a 15.36 kWh tower system.
Component 1: Deye AI-W5.1-B-BMS (control unit & base)
- The central control unit (BMS Cluster), which manages the entire system. This unit forms the base of the battery tower.
Component 2, 3 & 4: Three Deye AI-W5.1-BATT battery modules (each 5.12 kWh)
- Three pure battery modules of 5.12 kWh each, which are stacked on the BMS unit and on top of each other.
1 x set of battery connection cables (plus & minus)
- A pair of high-performance cables for connecting the BMS unit to an external hybrid inverter.
1 x communication cable (CAN/RS485)
- A data cable for communication between the BMS and the inverter.
2 x connection bridge / parallel connection cable
