Reliable power for your safety lighting

A working battery is the heart of every single-battery emergency light. This Beltrona replacement battery ensures that your safety and escape sign luminaires reliably provide the prescribed energy for the emergency lighting period (e.g. 3 hours) in the event of a power failure. It is the ideal choice for periodic replacement in office buildings, retail outlets, schools and other public institutions to maintain the operational readiness of the emergency lighting system.

Robust and proven nickel-metal hydride technology

Nickel-metal hydride technology (NiMH) is the modern standard for single-battery emergency lights. Compared to the outdated NiCd technology, it is more environmentally friendly as it does not contain heavy metals such as cadmium, and generally has a higher energy density. The cells used in this pack are optimised for the characteristic continuous trickle charge in emergency lighting systems and offer a long service life.

Developed for easy and safe replacement

This replacement battery is designed as a plug-and-play solution for professional installers. The assembly as a compact cube, the precisely fitting cable and the standardised JST plug enable a quick and uncomplicated replacement of the old battery. This minimises maintenance times and ensures that the emergency light is quickly fully operational again.

FAQs about the replacement battery for emergency lights

How do I recognise when the battery in an emergency light needs replacing?

Modern emergency lights with autotest function usually indicate a defective or depleted battery by a status LED (e.g. via red flashing). At the latest, if the light no longer passes the annual endurance test for the full emergency lighting period, the battery must be replaced immediately. The typical lifespan of a NiMH battery in this application is approximately 4 years.

Why is it important to use the exactly matching plug?

The JST plug is a widely used standard in electronics. Using the appropriate pre-assembled plug ensures a polarity-safe and electrically flawless connection to the luminaire electronics. DIY solutions using screw terminals or adhesive tape are not permitted in safety-relevant systems.

Can I replace this battery with one with a higher capacity (mAh)?

As a rule, this is possible as long as the voltage (4.8V), technology (NiMH) and design are identical. A higher capacity will result in a longer emergency lighting period. However, you must ensure that the battery physically fits into the luminaire housing.

How should this battery be disposed of?

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As a used device battery, you can return it free of charge at collection points in retail or at municipal recycling centres (e.g. via the GRS collection boxes) to ensure professional and environmentally friendly recycling.

The integrated battery is charged as required and supplies the LEDs.Why is a LiFePO4 battery used?Lithium iron phosphate (LFP/LiFePO4) is the safest lithium-ion technology. It is extremely cycle-resistant (durable), thermally stable (no "thermal runaway") and does not require rare raw materials such as cobalt. It is the ideal choice for fixed, low-maintenance systems such as this module. What does "all mounting types except wall mounting" mean? This means that the module is designed for integration in or on objects. Typical examples are milling into a wooden panel (installation), screwing onto machine panelling (surface mounting) or fixing with clips in a profile (integration). It is not intended as a stand-alone luminaire mounted on a building wall. How is the module charged? The module is charged via a dedicated charging port with a suitable power supply unit or charging circuit. The exact specifications for the charging voltage and charging current are defined in the technical data sheet of the product. The integrated M72 board controls and protects the charging process.

It is perfect for use in office buildings, retail spaces, schools, hospitals and industrial halls.Advanced and efficient LED technologyThe heart of the luminaire is a modern LED module that ensures bright and absolutely uniform illumination of the pictogram. Compared to older fluorescent lamps, LED technology offers a significantly longer service life of up to 50,000 hours, higher switching resistance and immediate full brightness in an emergency. This significantly reduces operating costs and maintenance over the entire life of the building.Designed for easy installation and flexibilityThe luminaire is designed for quick and faultless installation by the professional installer. The included pictogram set can be easily applied to the acrylic panel to flexibly define the escape route direction on site. This saves the need to stock different luminaire variants and allows on-site adaptation directly on the construction site as required. Features  ModelBeltrona LED escape sign luminaire (single battery) General luminaire data ApplicationEscape route marking Mounting typeWall surface mounting Operating modeContinuous / standby mode Detection range (m)approx. 20 Light sourceLED strip (integrated) Dimensions (W x H x D in mm)approx. 260 x 180 x 45 Integrated battery TechnologyLiFePO4 Rated voltage (V)3.2 Capacity (Ah)1.5 Autonomy time (h)3  FAQs on the escape sign luminaireWhat does "detection range 27m" mean? The detection range is the maximum distance from which an escape sign can still be clearly recognised and read as such. It is determined by the height of the pictogram and is specified in the EN 1838 standard. A detection range of 27 metres is a common standard value for many areas of application. Why is a pictogram set included?A separate set offers maximum flexibility on the construction site. The final direction of the escape routes is often only clear during installation. With this set, the installer can individually adapt each luminaire to the conditions without having to carry different luminaire variants with permanently printed pictograms. What is the blank film used for?The blank film (or dummy film) serves as a placeholder or can be used to cover one side of a luminaire if required. In some cases, it is also used as a pure signal luminaire without a specific direction to generally mark an emergency exit. Can the luminaire be operated in continuous and standby mode?Yes, depending on the version, the luminaire is designed for both operating modes. With single-battery luminaires, this can often be set directly on the luminaire. For luminaires for central battery systems, the operating mode (continuous operation/DS or standby mode/BS) is set centrally in the emergency power system for the respective circuit. According to most building regulations, escape sign luminaires must be operated in continuous operation.
