- High capacity: 80 Ah at 12 V for long-lasting energy supply in case of power failure.
- Maintenance-free: Completely sealed AGM technology with efficient gas recombination eliminates the need for topping up with water.
- High operational safety: Leak-proof design and a sturdy case ensure safe operation in any installation position.
- Low self-discharge: Enables long storage capability and ensures high operational readiness.
- Flexible installation: Operation possible in all positions, with the exception of permanent overhead use.
Reliable performance for safety-critical applications
The Vision 6FM80X delivers a capacity of 80 Ah at 20-hour discharge (C20) and 74.4 Ah at 10-hour discharge (C10). Its design is optimised for parallel standby operation, in which it is constantly maintained at charging voltage to provide full power immediately in the event of a power failure. With low internal resistance and high short-circuit current tolerance, the battery is capable of delivering high currents even for demanding loads for a short period.
Robust technology for demanding environments
Thanks to VRLA technology (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) with electrolyte bound in glass fibre fleece (AGM system), the 6FM80X is completely maintenance-free and leak-proof. The battery is equipped with self-regulating safety valves which ensure safe pressure equalisation in the event of overcharging. The low self-discharge rate of less than 3% per month at 20°C enables long-term storage. The robust housing made of impact-resistant ABS plastic is also available as a flame-retardant version according to UL94:V0 if required and is thus ideally suited for use in safety-critical systems.

FAQs about the Vision 6FM80X lead-acid battery
For which applications is the 6FM80X suitable?
The battery is ideal for standby applications and emergency power supply:
- Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
- Safety lighting and emergency lighting systems
- Fire alarm systems (FAS) and intruder alarm systems (IAS)
- Telecommunications systems and mobile base stations
- Medical and clinical equipment
- Control and automation technology
What exactly does "10-year battery" mean?
The term "10 years" refers to the design life of the battery in standby parallel operation, also known as float operation, at a constant ambient temperature of 20°C. The actual service life achieved depends heavily on operating conditions such as ambient temperature, charging voltage and the frequency of discharges.
What is the difference to a cyclic battery?
A standby battery like the 6FM80X is optimised for long service life at constant float charge with infrequent discharges. A cyclic battery, on the other hand, is designed for frequent deep discharges and recharges, as is the case with solar installations or electric vehicles. Using a standby battery in a cyclic application would significantly shorten its lifespan.
What is the correct charging voltage for this battery?
For maximum service life in standby operation, the float charge voltage at 20°C should be between 13.5 V and 13.8 V (2.25 V to 2.30 V per cell). Temperature compensation is strongly recommended for optimum battery maintenance.
Is the battery maintenance-free?
Yes, thanks to the sealed AGM technology, the battery is completely maintenance-free. No topping up with water is required and it can be safely used in devices and indoors.
Can the battery be installed flexibly?
Yes, the battery can be operated in all positions except permanently upside down. This enables flexible installation in a wide variety of devices and systems.
