Tadiran SL-750P Lithium battery 1/2 AA with 3.6 V and 1.0 Ah, with axial wires

Description

Product information

The Tadiran SL-750P is a primary high-performance lithium thionyl chloride battery in the extremely compact 1/2 AA size. This special version is pre-assembled with robust axial connection wires, allowing flexible and direct installation in electronic assemblies. With a nominal voltage of 3.6 V and a capacity of 1.0 Ah, it is the ideal energy solution for professional, miniaturised applications where longevity and fixed integration are essential.

Highlights at a glance

  • Ready to install: With robust, pre-assembled axial wires for direct mounting.
  • Extremely compact design: 1/2 AA size for maximum miniaturisation of your application.
  • Reliable capacity: 1.0 Ah for a long and self-sufficient operating time.
  • High rated voltage: Stable voltage of 3.6 V throughout almost the entire service life.
  • Maximum reliability: Extremely low self-discharge rate of less than 1% per year.
  • Extreme temperature range: Fully functional in a temperature range from -55°C to +85°C.

Powerful in a wide range of applications

The Tadiran SL-750P is the first choice when space is the limiting factor and a fixed, soldered connection is required. The axial wires allow flexible and direct integration into the circuit without the need for a battery holder. It is indispensable for compact sensors, medical devices, memory backups (RTC, CMOS) on densely packed boards, and for military applications where vibration resistance is a high priority.

Designed for maximum safety and efficiency

The safety and longevity of the SL-750P are based on its well-thought-out construction. The cell features a hermetic glass-to-metal seal that reliably prevents electrolyte leakage. The inorganic electrolyte used is non-flammable and provides a high degree of intrinsic safety. Each cell is designed to deliver its energy consistently and safely over a very long period, minimising maintenance costs and reducing the total operating costs of your application.

Superior lithium thionyl chloride technology

Lithium thionyl chloride technology (Li-SOCl₂) provides crucial advantages for long-term applications. A characteristic feature is the passivation effect: a thin protective layer forms on the lithium anode, drastically reducing self-discharge and enabling the extremely long shelf life. This technology ensures that even after years of storage, the energy is still almost fully available, setting the SL-750P apart from all other battery technologies.

FAQs about this Tadiran battery

Is this battery rechargeable?

No, this is a primary lithium battery and must not be recharged under any circumstances. Attempting to charge the cell is dangerous and can result in overheating, leakage or explosion of the cell.

What does the "axial wire" connection mean?

This model is equipped with connection wires that run out from the centre of the positive and negative poles of the cell in opposite directions along the longitudinal axis. This configuration allows very flexible mounting and direct connection to the electronics by soldering, without the need for a battery holder.

What does the passivation effect mean for this battery?

After prolonged storage, a protective layer forms on the surface of the lithium, which minimises self-discharge. When the load is first applied, this layer may cause a short voltage delay. For applications that require immediate high current pulses, appropriate circuit designs or special battery types should be considered.

For which devices is this battery type suitable?

This battery type is designed exclusively for professional and industrial electronics with very limited space, where the cell is soldered directly. These include compact sensors, memory backup and small medical devices.

What is the shelf life of the battery and how should it be stored?

The battery has a shelf life of over 10 years. For maximum longevity, we recommend storing it in a cool, dry place with low humidity.
