Special crane battery for Ikusi T70/1 (BT06K) - ATEX/HALL certified
Description
Product information
This NiMH special battery is the safety-relevant energy source for Ikusi radio remote controls used in potentially explosive areas (Ex zones). It replaces the original battery BT06K and is specially designed for the requirements of the ATEX and HALL safety standards.
Unlike standard batteries, this version has intrinsic protection mechanisms that must prevent sparking or overheating under all circumstances to ensure maximum safety in refineries, mining or the chemical industry.
Highlights at a glance
- Maximum safety (ATEX/HALL): This battery is intended for use in safety areas. It meets the strict requirements for explosion protection (please note the certificates on the battery!).
- Suitable for Ikusi Ex transmitters: Specially tailored to the T70/1 and T70/2 hand-held transmitter in the ATEX version (often identified by black cases with Ex marking or special type plates).
- Replaces BT06K (Ex): Compatible with part number BT06K in the explosion-proof version.
- NiMH technology (4.8V): Uses safe nickel-metal hydride cells with 4.8 volt. This chemistry is robust and durable.
- Certified design: The housing and the internal connectors are designed to prevent static charges and short circuits inside.
Important safety information
Danger to life if the wrong choice is made! In potentially explosive areas (Zone 0, 1, 2 etc.), only batteries may be used that have a valid and zone-appropriate ATEX approval.
- Never use standard third-party batteries without Ex certificate in an ATEX area!
- Always check before each use that the Ex symbol on the battery is undamaged and legible.
- The operation of an Ex transmitter with a non-Ex battery leads to immediate loss of the operating licence for the whole installation.

FAQs about the Ikusi ATEX battery
Can I also use this ATEX battery in a normal (non-Ex) transmitter?
Yes. Technically, this works without problems because voltage and design are identical. However, it is usually not economical, because ATEX batteries are considerably more expensive than standard batteries due to complex certification and construction.
Can I charge this battery in a normal charger (BC70)?
Usually yes. Ikusi chargers (e.g. BC70) usually charge both types. Note: The charger itself must generally not be in the Ex zone! Always charge batteries outside the hazardous area in safe rooms.
How do I recognise an ATEX battery?
Look for the hexagon symbol with the "Ex" and the specific zone markings (e.g. II 2G Ex ib IIC T4) on the battery's type plate. If this symbol is missing, it is a standard battery and prohibited for hazardous areas.Properties
