Why is 6mm² better than 4mm² at 35 metres?

Because of the lower voltage drop. Over a total length of 70 metres (there and back) the resistance sums up. A 6mm² cable reduces this resistance by about a third compared to a 4mm² cable, which can mean several percent higher yield for typical balcony power stations or module strings.

Will the connectors fit my inverter from Hoymiles, Deye or Growatt?

Yes. The connectors comply with the global MC4 standard and will fit mechanically and electrically with almost all common solar modules and inverters.

Can I shorten the cable if 35m is too long?

Yes, with expertise. You can cut the cable. However, please note that you will need professional MC4 connectors and a special PV crimping tool for the new connection to ensure a permanently reliable connection.
